The posting

The successful candidate will join a team of effective, hardworking professionals, committed to providing an outstanding education for all students. The ideal candidate will join the popular subject and help to develop and motivate students to gain their best outcomes, building on the department’s current strong foundations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for their subject area with the drive to improve the outcomes of students at all key stages. They will be organised, able to plan ahead and have the ability to engage students in Design and Technology both inside and outside of lessons, continuing to develop the established success of the department.

The successful candidate would be capable of delivering KS3 lessons across multiple material areas, KS4 OCR Cambridge National Engineering or AQA GCSE Design and Technology. Experience of teaching Engineering at KS4 is desirable but not essential. There is also an opportunity to deliver KS5 A level DT: Product Design as this is taught on site in partnership with Bilborough College.

The Fernwood School has a thriving, well equipped and forward-thinking ADT faculty and you would be joining a high performing and cohesive team of teachers and technical staff. The ADT faculty has a strong reputation throughout the midlands and is one of only 4 leading edge schools for D&T nationwide having achieved multiple awards for the quality of our teaching and our broader curriculum approach.

The faculty comprises Design & Technology, Food & Health, Art & Design and ICT, within which staff work very closely and collaboratively. The department benefits from 3 well equipped mixed material workshops, with modern CNC equipment, 3D printers, full casting and metal work facilities, large bed laser cutter, A0 printer, along with electronics and robotics equipment and much more. We are lucky to have 3 dedicated D&T specific computer rooms within the department, with industry standard CAD and graphics software installed including access to graphics tablets as needed.

Further information on the work of the department can be found on our website, and on our Instagram feed @fernwoodadt.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
