The posting

We are seeking an inspirational French Teacher committed to high academic standards who can communicate to young people an enthusiasm for Modern Foreign Languages.

We are looking to appoint a suitably qualified French teacher to join a dynamic and supportive department. The post is permanent, full-time or part time and would be suitable for either an ECT or an experienced teacher. The successful candidate would be expected to have a passion for learning and teaching, together with the skills to inspire and motivate our students to achieve the very best they can and is dedicated to their own professional development.

As of September all Key Stage 3 students at Wootton have French three times a week, and at Key Stage 4 nearly all students will study French for GCSE. We are really excited to be giving MFL the priority and profile that it deserves!

At Kimberley College there are A-level groups in both French and Spanish, and we intend to grow the numbers taking these subjects over time.

At Wootton the MFL Department is located in a suite of rooms on the first floor of the Humanities Block. At Kimberley there is one main teaching room but there are also smaller seminar rooms which are used for conversation and speaking work.

Our MFL team currently consists of three brilliant teachers and our amazing Languages Assistants, but with the expansion of Wootton and the increasing time given to the subject, we need more to join us! If you share our belief in the importance and power of foreign languages and want to teach French to well-behaved and enthusiastic students, then we want to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Multi Academy Trust which has a fantastic team of teachers who are dedicated to supporting pupils to make great progress as well as working as a tightly knit team. The Trust puts a very high priority on meeting the professional development needs of its staff to enable them to progress within the Trust.

Applicants must possess graduate subject knowledge and have high expectations. The ability to teach up to Year 11 GCSE and offer a second subject, would be desirable.

Closing Date: Wednesday 14th October. Please apply at the earliest opportunity. We reserve the right to close the vacancy early should we receive applications from outstanding candidates.

Applicants must complete the Trust’s application form via My New Term- we cannot accept CVs. When applying, please complete all sections of the application form and ensure that you do not leave any gaps in your qualification/work history and that you give details of any periods not accounted for by full time employment, education or training. Forms with missing sections and/or gaps may not be considered.

Our vacancies are advertised on the MyNewTerm platform. To apply for these please click the vacancies button, or scroll down further to see our live jobs.

Wootton Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Wootton Academy Trust is committed to diversity in our workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community. The role is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role. All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.

Wootton Academy Trust supports Equal Opportunities Employment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
