As the Principal of Manor Church of England Academy, I am delighted to introduce our school to you. Manor has a proud history, having served the young people of York for over 210 years. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher of Mathematics to join a committed and supportive team. The successful candidate will inspire students of all abilities, deliver engaging and high-quality lessons, and share a passion for helping young people achieve their full potential in mathematics. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious practitioner to make a real impact within a thriving school environment.

We are blessed to have state of the art facilities and supportive families, however our greatest assets are the over 1,100 young people enrolled with us and the 140 highly gifted teaching and support staff who form our community. Our aim is that all students and staff 'serve others, grow together and live life to the full'. Manor has a well developed ethos of camaraderie and support; we work together as a team to ensure the very best experience for our pupils. The ideal candidate will be focused on delivering high quality teaching and learning and have a passion for working with young people.

The main focus of the Subject Teacher's role is fostering the learning and progress of the pupils in their care. This involves being an effective teacher of pupils as well as of the subject. Quality of preparation, resourcing, planning, subject expertise, teaching skill, pace, challenge, proactive classroom management, effective marking and assessment, high expectations, and positive personal relationships are all central to providing the conditions within which pupils' personal skills, abilities, understanding, learning and progress can be developed.
