Join a Community Where Everyone Feels They Belong at Philip Morant School and College

Are you wanting to work as a part of a team whose purpose is to enable every member of the community to feel they belong? Do you have the skills to contribute to a learning environment that enables staff and students to be the best they can be?

Philip Morant School and College was judged as “Good” in all areas by Ofsted in September 2023. We are looking for a Teacher of Science and PE who can be a key part in our ongoing improvement journey.

Our school is a calm and orderly place. We work hard to ensure everyone feels welcome. As the largest school in Colchester we have exceptional facilities. Through the Sigma Trust there are many opportunities to work with staff in other schools and to have opportunities for development.

Living and breathing our vision and values starts from interview day, with every applicant welcomed by the Headteacher. From there every member of staff is part of a strong team and support and opportunity is always available.

The Science and PE departments are led by our enthusiastic Directors of Science and PE with a team of subject coordinators.

Our STEM Academy as part of our sixth form provision is providing access to students to the STEM labs at the University of Essex, residential trips to CERN, visiting lecturers and employers and collaboration with local STEM organisations.

Our Sports Academy of 250 students in Sigma Sixth is a key part of our PE provision. Throughout the school students compete at a high level alongside ensuring there is access to sport for everyone.

This role is required to provide more capacity within PE as we are needing to extend our A level provision and within science so we can provide additional support to students. We will consider applications from all science and sport specialisms.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
