The posting

  • Permanent, Term Time Only plus 1 additional day
  • 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.45 - 11:45am
  • Salary NJC Grade A1/B1, Scale Points 3 - 6, £25,614 - £26,846 per annum
  • Actual Salary £8,752 - £9,173 per annum
  • Required as soon as possible.

The Governors are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Teaching Assistant to join our Catholic primary school at Sacred Heart, Ilkley. We are looking for someone to provide support to children with additional needs. Experience is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has numeracy and literacy skills grade 4 or above (or equivalent level) and who is:

  • Caring, patient and intuitive to the needs of the child to enable them to access the curriculum as designated by the teacher
  • Able to communicate effectively with pupils and staff
  • Flexible in approach and able to adapt to working with both groups and individual pupils
  • Willing to help with activities both in the classroom and across the school
  • Professional, responsible and aware of the need to maintain confidentiality
  • Supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school
