Help every child thrive, achieve and belong

At Castle Academy, we are a welcoming and inclusive primary school where every child is valued, supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential. As part of Astrea Academy Trust, we are committed to delivering an exceptional education, underpinned by the values of scholarship, curiosity and tenacity. Our dedicated team works together to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe, inspired and ready to succeed both academically and personally. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative staff team that is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of our pupils every day.

About the role

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Interventions & Inclusion) to support pupils through targeted academic, pastoral and SEND interventions. Working closely with teachers, the SENDCo, families and external professionals, you will help ensure pupils receive the personalised support they need to access learning successfully, overcome barriers and flourish within school life.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusion and committed to helping every child achieve success academically, socially and emotionally.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted intervention programmes for individuals and small groups to accelerate progress and address barriers to learning.
  • Support the implementation of SEN Support Plans and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Provide tailored support for pupils with SEND and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Promote inclusion, confidence, resilience and independence in pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENDCo and pastoral staff to identify and support pupils requiring additional intervention.
  • Monitor, record and evaluate pupil progress, engagement and intervention outcomes.
  • Deliver interventions in areas such as literacy, numeracy, communication, emotional wellbeing and social skills.
  • Adapt resources and learning activities to meet individual needs and maximise pupil success.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to support positive outcomes.
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment while promoting the school's values and expectations.

What we're looking for

  • A passionate and caring individual who is committed to helping children succeed.
  • Experience working with, supporting or caring for children within a school or similar setting.
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
  • An understanding of SEND, inclusion and strategies that support children with additional needs.
  • The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and families.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills.
  • A positive, resilient and solution-focused approach to supporting children.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and continuous professional development.
  • A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school and support our vision of excellence for every child.

Why join us?

At Castle Academy, you'll be part of a friendly, supportive and highly committed team that values collaboration, professional growth and staff wellbeing. Through Astrea Academy Trust, you'll have access to high-quality professional development opportunities, excellent support networks and the chance to make a real difference to children's lives every day.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
