The posting

‘Being a pupil at Lawrence Sheriff is a highly positive and rewarding experience ... Staff feel extremely well supported by leaders’ Ofsted 2026.

Is your perception that, as a boys’ grammar school, we will be overly traditional and elitist? Think again! If you want to become part of a calm and happy school community then Lawrence Sheriff may well be the place for you!

Lawrence Sheriff School is a forward looking boys’ grammar school of approximately 1200 students, around 450 of whom are in our coeducational sixth form. As a Teaching School Hub, we play a significant role in initial teacher training and continuous professional development across the region. Our Teaching School Hub status also enables us to offer all staff varied and interesting opportunities to enhance their practice.

We are looking to appoint an experienced Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND, for example Autism and SEMH in and out of a classroom, in order to facilitate their access to the curriculum and maximise their independence.

The successful applicant will be based in the Inclusion Department as well as a classroom and must have the ability to establish effective relationships with young people and teaching staff.

Being an effective communicator is critical due to the needs of students and therefore excellent written and spoken English is essential. You must be highly organised, with good time management skills and be IT literate.

Applicants must be able to deal sensitively with matters of confidence whilst following the School Child Protection policy, for which training will be given.

For further information please contact the Personnel department: Tel: 01788 843700, E‑mail: [email protected]

Closing date for applications:

09.00 am on Tuesday 13 October 2026

Lawrence Sheriff School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. As part of the pre-employment process, an enhanced DBS Check, Prohibition Checks, Childcare Disqualification (where appropriate) and Online/Social media screening will be undertaken in addition to other relevant background checks. All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
