As part of our dedicated welfare team, you will play a vital role in supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of our pupils, staff and wider school community.

The ideal candidate should:

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Be caring, empathetic and approachable while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Remain calm and effective when dealing with illness, injury or emergencies.
  • Be able to work independently, use their initiative and contribute effectively as part of a team.
  • Have strong organisational, administrative and record-keeping skills.
  • Be confident using digital systems or willing to learn.
  • Be flexible and willing to undertake a range of medical and welfare duties.
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality and handling sensitive information appropriately.
  • Be able to meet the practical requirements of the role, with reasonable adjustments made where appropriate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing first aid to pupils, staff and visitors, including responding appropriately to medical emergencies.
  • Supervising and managing the welfare room, caring for sick, injured or distressed pupils.
  • Reporting medical incidents and accidents on Medical Tracker.
  • Maintaining accurate records of accidents, incidents, medicines administered and medical visits.
  • Managing pupil medical information, care plans and medical consent documentation.
  • Liaising with parents, health professionals and school staff regarding medical and welfare matters.
  • Coordinating immunisation, vaccination and health check programmes.
  • Monitoring and managing pupil medication, including inhalers, EpiPens and expiry dates.
  • Maintaining First Aid supplies, medical equipment and school First Aid kits.
  • Supporting school trips through the preparation of medical information and First Aid resources.
  • Recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns promptly, in accordance with the school’s safeguarding procedures.
  • Supporting the school office and reception team as required.

We will offer you:

  • A school where staff are highly valued and wellbeing is a priority.
  • Friendly, enthusiastic and well-behaved children.
  • A supportive and welcoming staff team.
  • Strong leadership and excellent support from the Senior Leadership Team and Governors.
  • High-quality professional development opportunities.
  • A positive and inclusive working environment.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives, health and wellbeing of children every day.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
