Job Description

ELECTRICIAN

Job Summary: The electrician is responsible for the operations, repair, and maintenance of the Hotel's electrical system and equipment in accordance with established Electrical Codes and Safety Standards and to assist in the promotion and implementation of energy efficiency standards

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting routine maintenance and/or repair of the hotel's Electrical Distribution system and/or equipment
  • Performing general maintenance of lighting and electrical equipment such as electrical panels, blown bulbs, defective controls, motors, pumps and electrical appliances
  • Providing lighting and other electrical requirements for banquets and other special functions in the hotel
  • Monitoring electrical apparatus and/or systems to ensure that they are operating efficiently
  • Performing routine maintenance and checks on the emergency Stand-by plants
  • Performing preventative maintenance work on all electrical equipment and/or electrical distribution systems as per maintenance schedule

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in the Hotel Industry
  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma and/or a certificate in the field of Electrical Installation/ Electrical Technology from a recognised Vocational Training Institution
  • Basic computer literacy and internet knowledge is preferred
  • Must possess a level of skill and/or Technical Competence equivalent to at least Level III HEART Trust NTA certification

Work Environment:

  • Office environment
  • May be required to work outside of normal working hours, on weekends, and public holidays
