The posting

Are you looking for a Challenge? Looking for an innovative organization and the opportunity to learn and grow professionally? We can help! We are seeking a Navy RTC ASVAB Mathematics & STEM Project Lead / Instructor to lead academic instruction and tutoring support for the Naval Service Training Command's (NSTC) Future Sailor Preparatory Course (FSPC) at Recruit Training Command (RTC), Naval Station Great Lakes, IL.

I’ve never heard of Terrestris. What do you do?

At Terrestris, we leverage technology to create better mission outcomes through better human performance. We form strong client and team relationships through transparency and strive to create an environment where our team can let their excellence shine through. By finding, developing, and incorporating new ideas, we provide memorable services. Rooted in the USMC values of honor, courage, and commitment, Terrestris seeks to deliver extraordinary value to the American people by helping the Government become more efficient and effective.

So, what will the Navy RTC ASVAB Mathematics & STEM Project Lead / Instructor at Terrestris do?

As the Navy RTC ASVAB Mathematics & STEM Project Lead / Instructor you will serve as the on-site supervisor for Terrestris’ team of Academic Instructors and Curriculum Developers supporting FSPC — a program that helps newly enlisted Sailors and those in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) build the math and reading skills needed to meet Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) standards for more technical Navy career fields. You will be the central point of contact between the contract team and the Navy, ensuring instruction is delivered on schedule, instructors stay certified, and the program continues to improve. This work requires professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to model the standards of dress, conduct, and character expected at a high-visibility military training command.

What does a typical day look like for a Navy RTC ASVAB Mathematics & STEM Project Lead / Instructor?

You will:

• Schedule and coordinate the instructor and curriculum team to ensure every classroom, tutoring, and study hall session is covered, including unscheduled absences.

• Attend weekly meetings with the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and serve as the primary liaison on day-to-day contract matters.

• Confirm instructors obtain and maintain required certifications and coordinate corrective action for any performance deficiencies identified in Government evaluations.

• Prepare and submit quarterly FSPC Program Success Reports covering student baseline scores, progress, ASVAB results, and recommendations for program improvement.

• Collaborate with curriculum developers and the Learning Standards Officer (LSO) to keep math and reading lesson content current and effective.

• Maintain accurate, secure student and program records, including files containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).

• Monitor classroom equipment and facilities, and report any safety, maintenance, or supply issues.

• Administer the team’s Quality Control Plan and advise Navy leadership on staffing, administrative, or recruit-related issues.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:

• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a favorably adjudicated Tier 3 (T3) or T3R background investigation and Common Access Card (CAC).

• A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Reading Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution (master’s degree preferred).

• A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching or working in a military or similar structured training environment.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in adult or young-adult education, including teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, or Algebra 2, or teaching reading/reading literacy.

• Completion of a recognized instructor training program — a Military Service Instructor Training Course (ITC), academic-institution instructor training, or academic credentialing as a teacher or professor.

• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English, and the professionalism expected in a high-visibility military training environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
