You will lead the team responsible for the digital nervous system of TI’s wafer fabs—ensuring every lot, tool, operator, and manufacturing event is orchestrated through a modern, scalable, and resilient Shop Floor Control platform. Your work will directly enable the evolution from highly automated factories to autonomous, AI-driven manufacturing, where MES serves as the foundation for intelligent decision-making, real-time execution, and continuous optimization.

Position Summary

The SFC (Shop Floor Control / Manufacturing Execution Systems) Domain Leader is responsible for defining and executing the strategic vision for Manufacturing Execution Systems across Texas Instruments’ wafer fabrication facilities. This leader owns the SFC technology roadmap, drives modernization of factory execution capabilities, and ensures reliable delivery of business outcomes that improve factory productivity, quality, and operational excellence.

This role combines strategic leadership, technical direction, and execution oversight. The successful candidate will build and lead a high-performing engineering organization, partner closely with manufacturing and IT leadership, and ensure that SFC capabilities enable the long-term vision of autonomous semiconductor manufacturing.

This role reports directly into the Vice President of Manufacturing Solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Vision

  • Define the long-term vision and technology strategy for Shop Floor Control (MES) across all wafer fabrication facilities.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap aligned with Smart Manufacturing objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize MES architecture, improve scalability, resilience, and user experience.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies including AI, event-driven architectures, and agent-based factory operations.

Delivery Excellence

  • Own delivery of SFC program commitments across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Ensure predictable execution of roadmaps, budgets, milestones, and business outcomes.
  • Drive Agile execution, backlog prioritization, release planning, and continuous delivery.
  • Remove execution risks and proactively manage dependencies across manufacturing, equipment automation, and infrastructure teams.

Manufacturing Partnership

  • Partner with Fab Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, and Factory Automation teams to understand operational priorities.
  • Translate manufacturing needs into scalable MES capabilities. Influence cross-functional decisions that improve manufacturing performance.
  • Drive standardization while accommodating site-specific business requirements where appropriate.
  • Build trusted relationships with factory leadership and executive stakeholders. Communicate roadmap, priorities, risks, and investment opportunities.

Domain Leadership

  • Lead the global SFC engineering organization responsible for wafer fab execution systems.
  • Build organizational capability through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Establish engineering standards, architecture principles, and software development best practices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Technology Leadership

Provide technical leadership for capabilities including:

  • Production execution
  • Lot tracking and genealogy
  • WIP management
  • Dispatching integration
  • Recipe and process enforcement
  • Equipment integration
  • Operator workflows
  • Electronic work instructions
  • Hold and release management
  • Data collection and traceability
  • Exception handling
  • Factory event processing
  • Manufacturing analytics integration

Architecture & Modernization

  • Drive modernization of legacy MES platforms.
  • Define future-state architecture leveraging APIs, event streaming, cloud-native technologies where appropriate, and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Ensure high availability, cybersecurity, scalability, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Champion reusable platforms and common services across factories.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience in manufacturing systems, industrial software, or MES.
  • 7+ years leading engineering organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting semiconductor wafer fabrication manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Shop Floor Control.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale enterprise software initiatives.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder environments.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
