The Antara Foundation (TAF) envisions a world where women and children do not suffer from preventable health conditions. We believe that every mother and each child deserves an equal start to a healthy life. We support the public health system deliver solutions at scale, to improve maternal and child health outcomes, by partnering with government and communities. Interventions of The Antara Foundation follow two closely integrated paths: to help the government system deliver better quality health care to the community and to support the community to mobilize and seek better health outcomes.

We are a young, energetic, and passionate team, working across 9 districts, 38 blocks, 5,700 villages, with 20,000 FLWs, and reaching 1.1 million women and children in central India. Over the next few years, we see ourselves spreading across multiple locations in India to implement our solutions and to create an impact at scale.

The TAF Fellowship Program- Nurse Mentoring and Capacity Building (NMCB), a 12-month initiative that we are introducing this year, 2025. Our Fellowship Program has consistently focused on onboarding bright young minds, encouraging them to integrate their previous experiences with new insights to drive meaningful change.

With the NMCB Fellowship, we aim to build on this foundation by offering Nursing students interested in Public Health an opportunity to gain practical in-depth exposure to the field of public health, enabling them to make an informed decision regarding a future in the development sector. The program will focus on enhancing the capacity of nurses and offering them critical exposure to public health challenges, specifically in the areas of Maternal and Child Healthcare.

Reporting to: District Lead

Duty Station: One of our intervention districts in Madhya Pradesh (Gwalior, Betul, Chhindwara, and Seoni)

Duration: 12 months ( potential to become Program officer-NMCB earlier)

Fellowship Stipend: 7 Lakhs per annum (6,40,000 per annum plus 60,000 at completion of 1 year)

You will also learn to work in a grassroots context, working with the last-mile providers of public health in some of India’s most remote regions, building for yourself, a perspective of development challenges and solutions from the ground up in a safe, supportive environment. Responsibilities:

· Support in developing training and capacity building development modules

· Continuously ideate and analyse data to improve program delivery and introduce new initiatives

· Develop trust and bonds with Facility staffs, frontline workers and the community to ensure quality delivery and sustainability of the program

· Assist in developing capacity building sessions in sector and block meetings.

· Assist in conducting training sessions for on-field staff- ASHA, ANM, AWW and nurses.

· Assist in nurse mentoring sessions for staff working in Labour room or maternity wing.

· Support Program Officer-NMCB where and when required.

Skills and Responsibilities:

· MSc Nursing from a recognized institute and registered with a competent authority. Prior experience in clinical field of 1-2 years will be preferred.

· Prior experience in maternity wing or teaching experience in obstetrics and gynaecology.

· Excellent skills in oral and written communications in Hindi and preferably in English.

· Someone who is passionate, bubbling with ideas and has the willingness to learn.
