About The Convergence Foundation

The Convergence Foundation (TCF) is an Indian philanthropic foundation dedicated to catalysing rapid and sustained economic growth to enhance the lives of all Indians. Established by Ashish and Manisha Dhawan in April 2021, TCF builds on their legacy of impactful philanthropy, including the founding of transformative institutions like Ashoka University and the Central Square Foundation.

Our mission is clear: to transform the lives of all Indians through rapid, sustained, and inclusive economic growth. To achieve this, we focus on seven key program areas that influence job creation, human capital development through education and skilling, and strengthening state capacity to deliver outcomes.

In each area, TCF works on:

  • Building pioneering institutions to address India's most complex socio-economic challenges.
  • Shaping the larger ecosystem and sharing knowledge, insights and learning with other philanthropists, governments and key stakeholders

We believe that the government is the key actor for system change, and the role of philanthropy is to strategically support the government.

The TCF Network includes 26 organisations, each committed to addressing specific areas of India's socio-economic development, from school education and governance to women's economic empowerment and export competitiveness.

Role purpose

Build strong talent and market intelligence that helps the Talent Acquisition team identify the right talent faster. You will research talent markets, map organisations and teams, build high-quality candidate pools and longlists and maintain a ready database of potential candidates for current and future hiring needs.

What you’ll do

  • Talent Research: Identify potential candidates across LinkedIn, organisational websites and other relevant sources based on role requirements.
  • Market Mapping: Map organisations, teams, functions and talent pools relevant to TCF and its partner organisations.
  • Candidate Pool Development: Build and maintain ready-to-use pools of potential candidates across priority functions, sectors and archetypes.
  • Search Support: Translate role requirements into relevant titles, organisations, keywords and search strings to support candidate identification.
  • Talent Intelligence: Identify emerging talent pools, relevant organisations and adjacent profiles that the TA team should explore.
  • Research Notes: Provide TA team with concise information on candidate backgrounds, talent pools and relevant market observations.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate, well-tagged and up-to-date candidate and organisation information in the recruitment system and trackers.
  • Reporting: Maintain simple trackers on research activity, talent pools and market coverage and share key observations with the TA team.

What good looks like (first 90 days)

  • Day 30: Understand TCF’s talent requirements and independently support candidate research for live roles.
  • Day 60: Build credible candidate and organisation maps across priority searches with limited supervision.
  • Day 90: Become a reliable research partner to recruiters, with reusable talent pools and organisation maps that can be leveraged for future searches.
  • Over time, build strong knowledge of where relevant talent sits across sectors, organisations and functions and help the TA team search beyond the obvious talent pools.

KPIs

  • Time to first slate: 5 working days from intake.
  • Longlist quality: 70% longlist recruiter-accepted; 5% email bounce rate (where emails are sourced).
  • Coverage: 80% of agreed target companies covered within 3 weeks.
  • Conversion: 30% longlist recruiter outreach; 15% outreach screening call.
  • Data hygiene: 100% records tagged

You’ll fit if you

  • Have up to 3 years of experience in research, recruitment, talent acquisition, consulting, market research, operations or a similar role.
  • Enjoy structured research, digging into information and finding people and organisations others may overlook.
  • Have strong attention to detail and are comfortable working with large amounts of information.
  • Are proficient in Excel/Google Sheets (filters, pivots, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, COUNTIFS; regex is a plus) and comfortable using LinkedIn and online research tools.
  • Can organise information systematically and identify patterns from your research.
  • Write clearly and concisely and can communicate findings effectively.
  • Are curious, persistent and comfortable working across multiple assignments.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to recruitment, executive search or talent research.
  • Experience with databases, CRMs or recruitment management systems.
  • Light automation for data cleaning (Sheets formulas/App Script or basic Python).
  • Familiarity with research/policy/consulting talent pools / environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
