The posting

The Membership Manager will play a crucial role in the long-term success of the club. This individual will execute the membership strategy, identify and cultivate prospective members, establish relationships with influential individuals and communities, and ultimately create a membership that reflects the club’s vision, values, and desired culture.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong network, natural social intelligence, and an authentic passion for hospitality and community. They understand that the most successful private clubs are defined not simply by what they offer, but by who is in the room.

Relationship Development & Membership Acquisition

  • Assist in identifying, introducing, cultivating, and converting prospective members.
  • Build trusted relationships with prospective members through highly personalized, discreet, and sophisticated engagement.
  • Leverage an established network across relevant industries and communities to introduce the club to individuals who will contribute meaningfully to its culture.
  • Develop referral networks and strategic relationships with individuals, organizations, brands, and communities aligned with the club’s positioning.
  • Maintain a highly personalized approach to prospect management rather than relying solely on transactional sales techniques.
  • Convert prospects into committed members while ensuring the experience reflects the exclusivity and sophistication of the club.

Member Experience & Community

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective and founding members throughout the pre-opening journey.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Food & Beverage, Marketing, Events, and leadership to create meaningful opportunities for prospective members to experience the club.
  • Develop relationships with members and actively support the evolution of the club’s community.
  • Identify opportunities to connect members with one another in ways that create genuine value and strengthen the overall membership experience.
  • Build relationships with tastemakers, influencers, entrepreneurs, creatives, executives, and other individuals who can contribute to the club’s reputation and community.
  • Maintain the highest standards of discretion, confidentiality, professionalism, and personal presentation.
  • Protect the integrity and reputation of the club in every member and prospect interaction.

Leadership & Administration

  • Provide leadership with regular reporting on membership pipeline, prospect engagement, conversions, market intelligence, and membership trends.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure promises made during the membership process translate into an exceptional member experience.
  • Participate in the development of membership policies, standards, onboarding practices, and ongoing engagement strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five years of experience in membership sales, luxury hospitality sales, or relationship management in a private club, luxury hotel, or comparable membership-based organization.
  • Strong business acumen and comfort working toward measurable membership and revenue objectives.
  • Proven ability to develop business through personal relationships rather than transactional sales alone.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when dealing with confidential or sensitive information.
  • Understanding of private club operations, governance, and member expectations preferred.
  • Genuine passion for hospitality, culture, community, and creating exceptional experiences.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a colleague to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer during planning, reporting, and administrative work.
  • Extended periods standing and walking throughout the club during service, events, and operational walkthroughs.
  • Ability to move between multiple levels and areas of the club throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during events and peak periods.

Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
