Tool and Die Maker Location: Pay Rate: $30 – $40 per hour

Position Overview A leading manufacturing organization is seeking experienced Tool and Die Makers to join their growing team in St. Peters. This is an excellent opportunity for skilled craftspeople who take pride in precision work and quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing dies used in production processes, ensuring they meet precise specifications and performance requirements
  • You'll fabricate new dies and components using various toolroom equipment, including CNC machines, grinding equipment, and precision measuring instruments
  • Your troubleshooting skills will be essential for diagnosing die-related production issues and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime
  • You'll collaborate closely with CNC programmers, WEDM (Wire Electrical Discharge Machining) operators, and production teams to ensure seamless workflow and optimal die performance
  • Your role includes performing quality inspections on dies and components, verifying dimensions against blueprints and specifications using precision measuring tools
  • You'll maintain detailed records of die modifications, repairs, and maintenance activities to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Additionally, you'll support multiple production shifts by providing technical expertise and responding to urgent maintenance needs
  • You'll contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities to enhance die longevity and reduce production interruptions

Requirements

  • You must have a minimum of five years of professional experience as a Tool and Die Maker or equivalent role in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with CNC machinery, grinding equipment, and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers is essential
  • You should demonstrate expertise in reading and interpreting technical blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of die design principles, materials, and fabrication techniques is required
  • You must possess excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex manufacturing issues
  • Familiarity with WEDM operations and applications is highly valuable
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are crucial, as precision is fundamental to this role
  • You should have reliable transportation and the flexibility to work multiple shifts as needed for production requirements
