Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Remote AutoCAD Drafter & Mosaic Engineering Specialist with extensive experience in woodworking, mosaic design, technical drafting, and production optimization. The ideal candidate must have advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and the required specialized mosaic software, with the ability to develop accurate technical drawings, engineer and optimize mosaic layouts, minimize material waste, and prepare production-ready files for cutting and manufacturing. This role requires a strong understanding of technical specifications, materials, dimensions, and production processes, along with excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, advanced English communication skills, and the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in the specific mosaic software and engineering processes required for this role, as experience with unrelated design software does not replace this specialized knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create accurate technical drawings and designs using AutoCAD.
  • Develop and engineer mosaic layouts, ensuring precision and production feasibility.
  • Apply woodworking knowledge to support design and drafting requirements.
  • Optimize mosaic designs and layouts to minimize material waste and improve production efficiency.
  • Prepare and submit production-ready files and cutting specifications.
  • Review drawings and designs for accuracy, dimensions, and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate design adjustments and resolve technical issues before production.
  • Maintain organized drawings, files, and project documentation.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clients, vendors, and teammates.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • High proficiency in mosaic design, drafting, engineering, and optimization using the required specialized software.
  • Demonstrated experience in woodworking.
  • Experience preparing production files and cutting layouts for manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, dimensions, material utilization, and production requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Highly adaptable, reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Creative thinker capable of delivering high-quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Resourceful, accountable, with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills in fast-paced work environments.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage daily operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiar with standard business tools (email, spreadsheets, document management).
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, software, and workflows.
  • Ability to follow established processes accurately with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work U.S. EST (New York) business hours and adapt to business needs.
  • Interested in long-term career opportunities.
  • Able to undergo a background check.
  • Reliable Windows 10+ computer, two monitors, and high-speed internet.
  • Reliable backup power source (e.g., power bank, UPS, inverter, or generator) for uninterrupted work during outages.
