Engineering Manager | Saginaw, MI

Salary Range: $115,000 - $164,000 depending on experience

This posting covers Engineering Manager opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Saginaw in Saginaw County, within about 45 minutes of the city, including Bay City, Midland, Frankenmuth, and Hemlock.

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across the Saginaw area seeking Engineering Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Usual Responsibilities

  • Direct daily engineering activities across process, equipment, and continuous improvement work.
  • Lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians, setting priorities and performance goals.
  • Oversee capital projects from scope and justification through installation and startup.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production and quality issues.
  • Manage engineering budgets, project schedules, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality leaders on cross functional initiatives.
  • Report project status and key metrics to plant and operations leadership.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • Several years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience supervising or leading engineering teams.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods.
  • Experience managing capital projects and budgets.
  • Working knowledge of safety and quality management systems.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Background in regulated industries such as automotive or medical devices.
  • Experience with ERP or maintenance management software.
  • Professional Engineer license or advanced technical degree.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or controls systems.
  • Six Sigma or lean certification.
