Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on experience

We partner with companies in the Monroe area seeking skilled Estimators.

This posting covers Estimator opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Monroe in Monroe County, within about 45 minutes of the city, including Dundee, Flat Rock, Carleton, and Rockwood.

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing companies in the Monroe region seeking Estimators. These employers partner with us because they want real insight into candidates - not just resumes. By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.

Usual Responsibilities

  • Request quotes from suppliers for purchased parts and materials.
  • Work with engineering and production to confirm manufacturing methods.
  • Prepare and submit bid packages to customers by the deadline.
  • Track awarded jobs and compare actual costs to the estimate.
  • Update pricing when material costs or customer requirements change.
  • Maintain estimating records and cost history in the company system.
  • Review customer drawings and specifications to prepare cost estimates.
  • Calculate material, labor, and machine time for each job.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong math skills and comfort with spreadsheets and ERP software.
  • Knowledge of machining, fabrication, or assembly processes.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet bid deadlines.
  • Experience estimating costs in a manufacturing or machine shop setting.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cost breakdown structures and margin analysis.
  • Background in a specific sector such as metalworking, plastics, or electronics.
  • Associate or bachelor degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
  • Experience with CAD software to review part geometry.
