Staff Accountant | Gladwin, MI

Salary Range: $61,000 - $91,000 depending on experience

This posting covers Staff Accountant opportunities with manufacturers based in and around Gladwin in Gladwin County, within about 45 minutes of the city, including West Branch, Standish, Hamilton, and Pinconning.

The Opportunity

We collaborate with manufacturing firms in the Gladwin area that seek skilled Staff Accountants. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and look for professionals who can contribute effectively. Usual Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for month end close.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Assist with inventory accounting and cost of goods sold analysis.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Qualifications

  • CPA or CMA certification or progress toward certification.
  • Experience with cost accounting and inventory valuation.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
