Job Summary

The Head of Data leads the organization's enterprise data function, ensuring that data is governed, trusted, accessible, secure, and effectively used for business decision-making.

Within Insurance & Investments, the role supports data requirements across underwriting, claims, customer analytics, investment/portfolio management, finance, risk, compliance, regulatory reporting, and corporate operations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute the organization's enterprise data strategy and roadmap.

Establish and maintain data governance, policies, standards, ownership, and controls.

Improve data quality, accuracy, consistency, completeness, and availability.

Lead enterprise data management, architecture, integration, and platform initiatives.

Oversee data warehouses, data lakes, data platforms, master data, metadata, and data pipelines.

Lead Business Intelligence (BI), reporting, analytics, and data science capabilities.

Support AI and machine-learning initiatives through high-quality and accessible data.

Develop data solutions for underwriting, claims, pricing, fraud, customer analytics, and risk.

Support investment teams through portfolio, performance, market, client, and investment data.

Establish data lineage, classification, access controls, privacy, and data-security practices.

Partner with IT/technology teams on cloud data platforms, architecture, APIs, and systems integration.

Ensure reliable data for financial, management, regulatory, and compliance reporting.

Lead data modernization and transformation programs.

Establish data-quality KPIs and monitor data governance and platform performance.

Manage data vendors, technology partners, budgets, and strategic initiatives.

Build, lead, and develop data engineering, analytics, governance, BI, and data-science teams.

Promote a data-driven culture across the organization.

Ideal Candidate Profile

12–18+ years of experience in data, analytics, information management, technology, or related fields.

5+ years in Head of Data, Head of Data & Analytics, Data Director, Director of Data, CDO, or equivalent leadership roles.

Experience in insurance, investment management, asset management, banking, wealth management, or financial services preferred.

Strong expertise in:

Enterprise data strategy

Data governance

Data architecture

Data management

Data quality

Data integration

Data platforms

Business intelligence

Advanced analytics

AI / machine learning

Data privacy & security

Master data management

Regulatory data

Experience managing enterprise data transformation programs and multidisciplinary teams.

Strong understanding of financial-services data and regulatory requirements.

Strong stakeholder-management skills with CIO, CTO, CDO, CFO, Risk, Investment, and business leadership.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Engineering, or related discipline.
