Threat Tec, LLC is an integrated technology and services company serving defense and commercial customers. We design, deliver, and sustain training, readiness, and mission-support solutions that combine people, process, and technology to improve preparation, decision-making, and operational performance.

Threat Tec, LLC is seeking an experienced Joint Targeting and Fires Exercise Planner to support the planning, development, integration, and execution of complex joint and service-level exercises. This position requires extensive operational experience in joint targeting, fires, multi-domain effects, and military exercise planning.

The ideal candidate is a senior military professional with significant experience operating at the Fleet, Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), Joint Task Force (JTF), or equivalent level, with the ability to integrate targeting, fires, aviation, command and control, and multi-domain capabilities into realistic and operationally relevant exercise scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and support Joint Targeting and Fires requirements throughout the exercise planning and execution lifecycle.
  • Integrate deliberate and dynamic targeting processes, Joint fires, multi-domain targeting, and operational effects into exercise scenarios and events.
  • Apply knowledge of aviation, fires platforms, weapons systems, and their operational employment to exercise design and execution.
  • Integrate Joint, MAGTF, and Naval targeting and fires systems, C4I networks, data pathways, and command-and-control architectures into exercise planning.
  • Participate in and support Exercise Life Cycle (ELC) events, including planning conferences, working groups, rehearsals, execution, and assessments.
  • Lead or contribute to planning efforts using the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), Joint Planning Process (JPP), or equivalent methodologies.
  • Coordinate targeting and fires requirements across Joint, Marine Corps, Naval, and Special Operations Forces stakeholders.
  • Incorporate Special Operations Forces (SOF) capabilities, support requirements, fires applications, and operational considerations into exercise planning.
  • Support the integration of multi-domain capabilities and systems-of-systems into realistic operational environments.
  • Develop and deliver briefings, planning products, exercise documentation, and other materials to senior military and civilian stakeholders.
  • Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations in support of exercise planning conferences and execution events.

Required Qualifications

  • 15 years of prior military service.
  • Demonstrated targeting and/or fires experience at the Fleet, MEF, JTF, or equivalent level of command.
  • Thorough understanding of Joint deliberate and dynamic targeting processes, Joint fires, multi-domain targeting, and effects.
  • Working knowledge of aviation and fires platforms, capabilities, and operational employment.
  • Thorough understanding of Joint, MAGTF, or Naval targeting and fires data systems, C4I networks, and associated data pathways.
  • Extensive experience with military exercise planning and a thorough understanding of the exercise life cycle.
  • Experience leading the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP), Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), or equivalent military planning process.
  • Understanding of SOF capabilities, support requirements, fires applications, and operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to CONUS and OCONUS exercise planning and execution events.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license and passport

Security Clearance

  • Must possess a current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance verified in the Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Must meet applicable Marine Corps personnel validation and clearance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous SOF Fires experience with comprehensive knowledge of SOF-specific missions, capabilities, and operational employment.
  • Graduate of an Armed Forces Command and Staff College or equivalent Professional Military Education (PME).
  • Experience with multi-domain operations and systems-of-systems integration.
  • Experience with maritime targeting and fires.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
