Job Title: Senior Demand Planner

Contractor Fee: $2,500-$3,000/month (USD)

Work Arrangement: Remote

Engagement Type: Independent Contractor

Commitment: Full-time (Approx. 40 hours/week)

Company Overview:

Tidal is a Direct Placement Agency that helps job seekers find job opportunities for real growth. We work with stable, responsible businesses that are experienced in remote hiring and are excited to welcome international team members. Tidal is owned and operated by consumer brand owners and operators. We have experience in offshore team-building and aim to help businesses leverage global talent.

About This Role: We are hiring a Senior Demand Planner for a growing omnichannel consumer products business. You will own the end-to-end demand planning process, combining company and category targets with SKU-level forecasting to translate historical sales, seasonality, market trends, promotions, product lifecycle, and wholesale demand into accurate forecasts, inventory requirements, and purchasing recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and maintain SKU-, category-, and company-level demand forecasts using historical sales, seasonality, trends, promotions, product lifecycle, and other relevant demand drivers.
  • Reconcile top-down commercial targets with bottom-up SKU forecasts, identify gaps or changes in demand patterns, and monitor forecast accuracy, bias, and other key demand planning KPIs.
  • Translate forecasts into inventory requirements and purchasing recommendations while accounting for lead times, minimum order quantities, order constraints, and inventory targets.
  • Partner with Supply Chain to improve product availability while reducing stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolete inventory and supporting efficient working-capital management.
  • Own the demand planning component of the S&OP process, partnering with Finance, Sales, Merchandising, and Supply Chain to align commercial expectations, forecast assumptions, and operational requirements.
  • Build and maintain forecasting models, dashboards, and reporting; ensure sales, inventory, and product data are accurate; and present key demand changes, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions to leadership.
  • Continuously improve forecasting methodologies and planning processes through data analysis, testing, and performance review.

Software/Platforms/Tools:

  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets
  • ERP, BI, demand planning, forecasting, or inventory planning systems

Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain, inventory planning, or a related analytical function.
  • Proven experience working within an omnichannel product business, preferably across eCommerce, consumer products, retail, and/or wholesale channels.
  • Strong understanding of SKU-level demand forecasting and inventory planning, including seasonality, product lifecycle, promotions, lead times, and supply constraints.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills with experience working with large datasets, forecasting models, reporting, and ERP, BI, or planning systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into practical inventory and purchasing decisions, identify trends, and challenge assumptions.
  • Strong cross-functional and English communication skills, with experience working with Finance, Sales, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and leadership stakeholders.
  • Highly analytical, commercially minded, detail-oriented, proactive, accountable, and comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a fast-moving environment.

Shift Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday during US Pacific Time business hours (PST/PDT). Candidates must be comfortable working a full-time schedule aligned with the US-based team for forecasting, S&OP, planning meetings, and cross-functional coordination.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
