The posting

The Trust & Safety team at TikTok ensures our global community is safe and empowered to create and enjoy content across all our applications. As a member of our Policy Development team, you will serve as a content and product policy expert with a focus on Information Integrity (which spans issue areas including misinformation, election and civic integrity, and deceptive behaviors). In this role, you will be part of a global Trust & Safety organization, helping lead our efforts to ensure that our Information Integrity policies protect the safety of our users while balancing free expression. You will partner closely with policy subject-matter experts, product teams, enforcement and operations partners, legal, public policy, data science, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure policy decisions are clear, consistent, implementable, and aligned with broader platform safety goals. This role is ideal for someone who combines principled thought, strong policy judgment, excellent writing, structured problem-solving, and the ability to bring clarity to ambiguous, fast-moving, cross-functional issues.

Responsibilities - Draft and refine our Information Integrity policies so they are clear, consistent, defensible, and operationally useful for downstream teams. - Collaborate with Policy Scaling, Regional Policy, and Product teams to improve content policies and streamline enforcement and processes. - Engage with Legal and Public Policy teams to ensure compliance with key regulations and be a consultant for potential new regulations or government regulatory requests. - Act as a global escalation point of contact when necessary, and align all stakeholders and leadership to respond to emergency policy decisions. - Remain up-to-date on industry trends and emerging issues in the Information Integrity space and design policies & policy positions to address them on platform where necessary. - Serve as a subject matter expert representative for Information Integrity efforts, in coordination with Regional Policy, Public Policy, Comms, and/or Outreach & Partnerships. - Engage with external stakeholders to incorporate outside expertise into TikTok’s platform policies. - Support the execution of the strategic vision for the wider Policy Development team, working cross-functionally with other team members to optimize policy iteration, implementation, and training procedures to deliver high-quality results.

Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, platform policy, product policy, government, law, human rights, technology policy, academia, or a related field. - Knowledge in one or all of the following: misinformation, election integrity, civic integrity, identity deception, coordinated inauthentic behavior. - Excellent writing, editing, and executive communication skills, with the ability to turn complex and ambiguous topics into clear, structured, and actionable materials. - Strong policy judgment and the ability to reason across multiple issue areas, product contexts, stakeholder perspectives, and risk trade-offs. - Exceptional ability to work cross-functionally with partners such as product, legal, comms, operations, enforcement, public policy, and data science. - Self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment. - Strong understanding of online safety, content policy, platform governance, social media, or technology policy issues.

Preferred Qualifications - Degree in public policy, international relations, law, technology policy, political science, or a related field. - Prior experience working in Trust & Safety, policy, or governance at a global technology company. - Proficiency in data-driven policy analysis and related enforcement/technical expertise.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.
