Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking an experienced Marketing Proposal Coordinator to join our dynamic Marketing Team. We're looking for a highly detail-oriented, proactive professional who takes pride in producing exceptional work, thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and enjoys collaborating with technical teams to develop winning proposals.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on proposal development experience, strong organizational and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality and excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead proposal efforts for land development and infrastructure pursuits, including RFP, RFQ, and SOQ responses for local, state, and federal clients, primarily in North and South Carolina with occasional support in other markets.
  • Manage the full proposal process, including scheduling and leading kickoff and review meetings, establishing timelines, coordinating team inputs, and managing competing deadlines.
  • Write, edit, and organize proposal content, including project descriptions, resumes, technical narratives, and executive summaries.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to translate complex technical information into clear, compelling, client-focused messaging.
  • Ensure high standards of proposal quality, accuracy, and compliance through thorough proofreading, rigorous quality control (QC) processes, and effective use of AI-powered review and compliance tools.
  • Proactively identify and resolve challenges, anticipate potential issues, and keep pursuits moving forward while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain marketing collateral, including project sheets, staff bios, and boilerplate content.
  • Research market trends, track leads, and gather competitive intelligence to support business development.
  • Maintain accurate pursuit records and assist with CRM (Deltek Vantagepoint) updates.
  • Support business development activities, including events, award submissions, and digital content coordination.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • 2+ years of experience in proposal development required; civil engineering or related professional services experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy, quality, and excellence.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills, particularly for technical and client-focused narratives.
  • Excellent organizational and workload management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize competing demands, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions independently.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Experience with Kantiv or similar AI-powered proposal development tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the Shipley proposal development methodology is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar CRM software is a plus.
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical teams and colleagues.

If you're passionate about producing exceptional work, helping technical teams tell their story, and contributing to winning projects that shape our communities, we'd love to hear from you!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
