The posting

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Financial Transaction Processing: Ensure accurate and timely capturing of cashbook transactions and posting of general ledger journals in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures.

2. Account Reconciliations: Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial balances and the timely resolution of reconciling items.

3. Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts by providing accurate financial information, supporting schedules, and general ledger analysis within reporting deadlines.

4. Budgeting and Financial Planning: Assist with the preparation of annual budgets by compiling financial data, preparing supporting schedules, and ensuring the accuracy of budget inputs.

5. Statutory Compliance: Prepare VAT calculations and submit VAT returns within prescribed deadlines, ensuring compliance with applicable tax legislation and regulatory requirements.

6. Audit Support: Provide supporting documentation, schedules, and financial records to internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit queries.

7. Fixed Asset Management: Maintain and update the fixed asset register to ensure accurate asset records, appropriate financial reporting, and effective asset control.

8. Rental Schedule Management: Review monthly rental schedules to verify the accuracy of rental charges, contractual amounts, and related financial entries, ensuring completeness and consistency with supporting agreements.

9. Prepare financial reports and data as and when required for Management

10. Any other duties which may be assigned to the Finance Assistant by Management from time to time.

REQUIRMENTS

1. Diploma in Financial Accounting or an equivalent relevant qualification.

2. Minimum of three years’ experience in a finance or accounting environment.

3. Accounting Systems Proficiency: Working knowledge of accounting software packages and financial management systems.

4. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

5. Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise competing tasks, and consistently meet strict reporting deadlines.

6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear, well-organised supporting documentation.

7. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong commitment to data integrity and the reliability of financial information.
