The posting

TradingView is the world’s largest financial analysis platform with more than 100M users across 180+ countries.

We build tools that help traders and investors make informed decisions — from advanced charting and market data to collaboration and publishing features. Our products are used daily by millions of individuals and trusted by companies like Revolut, Binance, and CME Group.

We’re continuing to grow and scale our platform, and we’re looking for people who care about product quality, take ownership of their work, and want to build systems used by a global audience.

About the team

The team owns Pine Script — TradingView’s own programming language that millions of traders use to build custom indicators and trading strategies — together with the engine that runs them. It develops the Pine compiler and runtime, built-in indicators, advanced charting tools such as Volume Profile, Footprint, and Renko/Kagi, and backend calculation of special indices like Crypto Market Cap. Alerts, the Screener, and community script publishing all rely on this engine. The work sits at the intersection of language design and high-load backend, where every script runs under strict performance limits on our own hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a team of Java backend engineers through 1:1s, feedback, performance reviews, hiring, and career development
  • Own delivery for the team — planning, prioritization, and predictable execution of the roadmap together with the tech lead
  • Move the team to sprint-based planning and make progress, risks, and results visible to stakeholders
  • Define clear ownership boundaries and drive a structured approach to technical debt
  • Strengthen testing practices in the team and shift testing left
  • Break down large initiatives — new Pine Script capabilities, new indicator types, backend index calculations — into achievable milestones
  • Coordinate with adjacent teams such as alerts, screener, and charts to unblock dependencies and align on shared work
  • Keep reliability, performance, and resource efficiency in focus and make the case for investing in them

What makes you the perfect fit

  • 8+ years of hands-on backend development in Java or another JVM language and a deep understanding of the platform
  • Experience managing software engineering teams, including hiring and growing engineers
  • Ability to read and review code and discuss technical trade-offs with senior engineers and architects
  • Experience with high-load backend systems with strict performance requirements
  • Experience building predictable delivery processes and strong testing practices
  • Mature communication — you can align a team around a decision and hold your position with stakeholders

Will be a plus

  • Experience with domain-specific languages, compilers, or interpreters
  • Experience with profiling and CPU and memory optimization
  • Hands-on experience with Go or JavaScript
  • Experience in finance, trading, or charting products
  • Familiarity with TradingView and Pine Script

What we offer you

  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid work format
  • Well-equipped offices for focused and collaborative work
  • A global, distributed team of 700+ professionals
  • Learning, mentorship, and long-term career growth
  • Relocation support and private health insurance
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • TradingView Premium access
  • Regular team events and company-wide meetups

Join the TradingView team and help us build a product used by millions of traders and investors worldwide. We look forward to hearing from you!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
