The role focuses on retaining and strengthening these relationships: managing contract renewals and rate reviews, safeguarding service performance against agreed SLAs, protecting account profitability, and coordinating with operations and group offices overseas. The ACM will also grow revenue within the portfolio and support selected new business opportunities, with business development as a secondary focus.

- Build and maintain relationships at multiple levels within customer organizations, from operational users to procurement and senior decision-makers
- Develop and update account plans covering customer needs, volume forecasts, risks, renewal timelines, and growth opportunities
- Conduct regular account reviews (monthly or quarterly) to present performance, address issues, and agree on improvement actions
- Monitor customer satisfaction and identify early warning signs of attrition, implementing proactive retention strategies
- Manage the full contract renewal cycle by tracking expiry dates, preparing renewal proposals, and negotiating terms ahead of contract end
- Lead periodic rate reviews and pricing adjustments (e.g., fuel surcharges, cost escalations, scope changes) while protecting account margins
- Review contract terms, SLAs, liability, and payment terms with internal legal and finance teams, escalating non-standard terms for approval
- Prepare and respond to customer RFQs and tenders for existing accounts, coordinating costing inputs with operations and pricing teams
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure billing accuracy, manage credit terms, and follow up on overdue receivables within the portfolio
- Act as the liaison between customers and internal operations to ensure services are delivered as agreed
- Track SLA and KPI performance and implement corrective action plans when targets are missed
- Manage escalations, service failures, claims, and incidents promptly and professionally, keeping customers informed until resolution
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts, including new lanes, additional services, and group capabilities
- Support the business development team in pursuing selected new customer opportunities through meetings, proposals, and solution design
- Generate referrals and leads from the existing customer base and regional group network
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and customer industry developments that may impact the portfolio
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account records, pipeline, and renewal information in the CRM system
- Prepare regular reports on portfolio revenue, margin, renewal status, and account health for management
- Ensure customer dealings comply with company policies, group governance requirements, and applicable regulations, including PDPA compliance

- Working knowledge of transport logistics operations
- Commercial and financial acumen, including ability to interpret costing sheets and understand margin drivers
- Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Strong relationship-building skills to earn trust at operational and senior management levels
- Effective negotiation skills focused on balanced, long-term commercial outcomes
- Clear written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Structured and organized approach to managing multiple accounts, renewal deadlines, and priorities simultaneously
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to remain calm under pressure when handling service escalations
