Senior/Staff Software Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid preferred; remote considered)

Compensation: $140,000 - $250,000 + competitive equity

Employment Type: Full-time

About the Company

The client builds modern identity governance for the AI era: intelligent access management that lets enterprises move fast while staying secure. Companies including Databricks and Figma rely on Opal.

Founded in 2020, Opal has raised $34M and has about 60 people.

The Role

Opal is hiring Senior and Staff Software Engineers with strong product sense to build customer solutions across the entire stack, working directly with security and engineering teams at Fortune 500s and startups.

What You Will Do

  • Own critical product areas from concept to production, including architecture decisions.
  • Design and build features across the full stack and validate them directly with customers.
  • Write code and patterns that other engineers build on and that raise team velocity.
  • Share knowledge that levels up the team and shapes how Opal builds.
