The posting

Take the next step in your Transurban journey.

Here's an opportunity to grow your skills and shape your path at Transurban. We're building a culture where you can apply your strengths, contribute meaningful work, and develop the capabilities you'll need for tomorrow.

About the Opportunity

As a Vendor Manager, you'll play a key role in helping Transurban get the very best value from our technology partnerships and investments. Working within our ERP and Corporate Applications team, you'll help strengthen the governance, performance, and strategic management of technology vendors that support critical business outcomes across the organisation through strong commercial acumen, customer-focused thinking, and informed decision-making.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence how we work with our technology partners, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to the implementation of a new technology licensing framework across a rapidly growing portfolio. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across Technology, Procurement, Risk, Finance, Legal, and external suppliers, using relationship building, collaborative delivery, and critical thinking to create stronger partnerships and better business outcomes.

You'll join a collaborative team that values curiosity, innovation, and diverse perspectives. Together, you'll help ensure our supplier relationships deliver long-term value while supporting the technology that keeps our business and communities moving.

As our Vendor Manager, you'll contribute to meaningful work that supports Transurban's ongoing growth and helps deliver better experiences for our customers, partners, and employees.

How you'll make an impact (your day-to-day):

  • Build confidence in our supplier partnerships by managing governance frameworks, monitoring performance, and ensuring vendor relationships deliver against business objectives and risk expectations through effective relationship building and commercial acumen.
  • Drive better commercial outcomes by identifying opportunities to maximise value, improve supplier performance, optimise technology investments, and support cost-saving initiatives across the Technology portfolio using critical thinking, problem solving, and sound commercial judgement.
  • Turn data into meaningful insights through performance reporting, score carding, risk identification, and recommendations that support informed decision-making by leaders and stakeholders. You'll leverage AI and data literacy to help identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Strengthen relationships across the business by partnering with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve issues, manage risks, and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes through collaborative delivery and a customer-focused approach.
  • Support continuous improvement by helping implement and evolve vendor management practices, technology licensing processes, and governance approaches that enhance business performance and accountability. Your adaptability will help drive positive change across an evolving technology environment.

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and a drive to adapt. We value the transferable skills and experience you could bring, including:

  • Building and managing strategic relationships: Experience working with external partners, suppliers, service providers, or key stakeholders to deliver successful business outcomes through strong relationship building and collaboration.
  • Commercial and analytical thinking: The ability to assess opportunities, evaluate performance, identify risks, and make recommendations that create value for an organisation through strong commercial acumen, critical thinking, and informed decision-making.
  • Governance and process improvement: Experience establishing, managing, or improving frameworks, controls, reporting processes, or operational practices that support accountability and performance.
  • Influencing and stakeholder engagement: The ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, build trust, and align people around shared goals through collaborative delivery and customer-focused outcomes.
  • Working confidently with technology and change: Experience supporting technology, digital, commercial, procurement, or operational environments, combined with AI and data literacy and the adaptability to learn new tools, systems, and ways of working.
  • Problem solving in complex environments: A proactive approach to identifying challenges, navigating ambiguity, and delivering practical solutions that improve outcomes through strong problem solving, critical thinking, and sound judgement.

Taking ownership of your career and development means exploring opportunities that stretch you. We aren't looking for a perfect checklist; we're looking for people who bring strong foundations, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. If your experience aligns with some of the above and you're excited about the impact you could make, we'd love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
