Description

Trintech is an award-winning AI-driven Fintech SaaS organisation transforming the way finance teams operate.

We are looking to hire a Principal Lead Software Engineer to be responsible for one or more of our cloud-based/on-prem products.

Responsibilities include:

Working in a team with developers, QA engineers and coordinating with internal cross-functional teams of the Product; mentoring other developers, ensuring they follow coding standards, quality assurance principles and agile methods; lead team wide technical discussions or troubleshooting sessions including code reviews; have a proven track record of delivering on larger product related changes, following through successfully from idea/conception through architecture, development and deployment; committed to constant growth of knowledge and skills through a combination of company and self-driven work.

This role's key objective is to provide a quality product to our customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design and implement complex, scalable, and high-performance Java/J2EE features, taking full ownership of development tasks from requirement analysis through implementation, testing, and production release
  • Produce well-structured, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code that serves as a quality benchmark for the team
  • Contribute meaningfully to architectural and technical design discussions, bringing well-reasoned proposals and helping evaluate options before implementation begins
  • Participate in and contribute to technical design reviews, raising concerns on design quality, performance, and security early in the development cycle
  • Apply secure coding practices consistently, including awareness of common vulnerability patterns, static analysis findings, and secure-by-design principles
  • Write and maintain unit, integration, and regression tests; contribute to maintaining high code coverage and test reliability across the Java backend
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently, including performance bottlenecks, data integrity problems, and integration failures
  • Collaborate closely with frontend engineers on REST API design, ensuring clean, consistent, and well-documented interfaces
  • Work within the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins, ensuring contributions are built, tested, and integrated in a consistent and automated manner
  • Conduct focused, constructive code reviews for peers, providing technically sound and actionable feedback
  • Share knowledge actively within the team through documentation, design discussions, and ad-hoc technical guidance
  • Engage fully in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups
  • Takes initiative in identifying technical risks and blockers early, communicating them clearly and proposing solutions before they impact sprint delivery
  • Consistently delivers well-tested, production-ready code within sprint timelines, adapting to changing priorities without compromising on quality

WHO YOU ARE

  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 7-9 years of software development experience with deep, hands-on Java/J2EE expertise
  • Expert-level knowledge of Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate, REST APIs, multithreading, and socket programming
  • Strong ability to independently design and implement complex backend features in large-scale enterprise applications
  • Deep understanding of software design patterns, data structures, algorithm complexity, and object-oriented principles
  • Solid experience in secure coding practices, including awareness of vulnerability patterns, static analysis, and secure API design
  • Experience with JBoss / WildFly application server; familiarity with Windows Server or Linux hosting environments
  • Strong unit testing and TDD discipline; experience with JUnit or equivalent frameworks
  • Experience with Oracle or SQL Server databases- writing complex SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience using SVN, Git, JIRA, and standard development tooling
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to independently tackle complex technical challenges
  • Clear and effective communicator, able to articulate technical decisions and trade-offs to peers and the wider team
  • Experience with cloud-hosted enterprise application environments, ideally on Microsoft Azure with Windows Server, WildFly, and SQL Server
  • Working knowledge of Angular and Kendo UI — sufficient to understand frontend integration points and collaborate effectively with frontend engineers
  • Familiarity with C++ or experience integrating Java applications with native / C++ components via SOAP or similar protocols (directly relevant to the Accurate product architecture)
  • Experience with legacy enterprise application modernization — refactoring, incremental migration, and managing technical debt in large codebases
  • Exposure to microservices or service-oriented architectures and associated messaging and event-driven patterns
  • Experience with JSP in a legacy enterprise application context
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional Java SE, Spring Professional) are a plus

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
