The posting

Trueline, a rapidly expanding, family-owned residential construction company specializing in custom exterior renovations and outdoor living spaces, is seeking a Production Administrator / Preconstruction Manager - Decks & Outdoor Living to join its growing team. This position offers nationwide remote flexibility, with a hybrid option in the Pittsburgh, PA area, and is ideal for someone who knows how decks are built and enjoys turning project designs into accurate, construction-ready plans.

What You'll Do as the Production Administrator / Preconstruction Manager - Decks & Outdoor Living:

  • Take ownership of custom deck and outdoor living projects once the sales process is complete, preparing each job for a smooth transition into construction.
  • Review drawings, measurements, photographs, contracts, and project specifications to identify missing details or potential installation challenges.
  • Evaluate framing layouts, structural components, connection details, and material requirements to ensure projects are practical and ready to build.
  • Verify material takeoffs and coordinate purchasing for lumber, composite decking, fasteners, hardware, and other construction supplies.
  • Prepare complete job packages that give installation teams the plans, materials, instructions, and information needed to execute efficiently.
  • Coordinate with sales, purchasing, permitting, and production teams to resolve questions before they become costly jobsite problems.
  • Organize and prioritize a pipeline of approximately 100-150 projects, supporting a production pace of roughly 30 deck projects per month.
  • Review project costs, identify material discrepancies, and recommend solutions that reduce waste and protect profitability.
  • Maintain accurate project information using construction management software, digital drawings, spreadsheets, and jobsite photographs.
  • Help refine preconstruction procedures and build scalable systems for a growing outdoor living division.

Must-Haves as the Production Administrator / Preconstruction Manager - Decks & Outdoor Living:

  • Strong working knowledge of residential deck construction, structural framing, carpentry, and installation practices.
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings and identifying design, material, or constructability issues.
  • Ability to prepare or verify construction material takeoffs, including framing lumber, decking, and structural hardware.
  • Experience coordinating material purchases, construction documentation, or project preparation.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort working with construction software, spreadsheets, and digital project records.
  • Excellent organization and the ability to manage numerous projects with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with construction crews, suppliers, sales representatives, and production leadership.
  • Sound independent judgment, strong attention to detail, and a practical approach to solving construction problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with substantial project volume.

Nice-to-Haves as the Production Administrator / Preconstruction Manager - Decks & Outdoor Living:

  • Experience with a custom deck builder, outdoor living contractor, residential remodeler, or design-build company.
  • Background in preconstruction, production coordination, construction purchasing, estimating, or project management.
  • Experience as a deck designer or material takeoff specialist for a lumberyard or building materials supplier.
  • Hands-on deck building or framing experience combined with strong office and technology skills.
  • Familiarity with composite decking, covered porches, roof structures, or other outdoor living installations.
  • Experience with ServiceTitan, Buildertrend, JobTread, JobNimbus, AccuLynx, or similar contractor platforms.
  • Experience using deck design software, digital measurement tools, or jobsite photo management systems.
  • A track record of improving material accuracy, reducing construction delays, or streamlining project workflows.

We Offer:

  • Base salary of $75,000-$85,000, depending on experience.
  • Monthly production bonus opportunities, with total annual compensation targeted around $100,000 for strong performance.
  • Additional compensation flexibility for exceptionally qualified candidates.
  • Discretionary performance bonus opportunities.
  • Nationwide remote work opportunities and hybrid flexibility for Pittsburgh-area candidates.
  • Company-provided laptop, monitors, and work phone.
  • Health insurance through UPMC.
  • Dental and vision benefit options.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Direct collaboration with company ownership and operations leadership.
  • The opportunity to shape preconstruction systems within a growing outdoor living division.
  • Meaningful responsibility for project readiness, construction efficiency, and profitability.
  • Long-term professional growth opportunities in an entrepreneurial, privately owned business.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
