About UHP

UHP — Unlock Human Potential is building a new category of education centered around whole-human experiential vocational training, leadership development, and purpose-driven transformation. UHP serves veterans, transitioning service members, and purpose-driven individuals through immersive programs that integrate human performance, leadership, wellness, vocational skills, and personal growth.

Our environment is fast-moving, mission-driven, and deeply experiential. We are not a traditional university, gym, military program, or trade school — we are building a scalable human development institution designed for the future workforce.

The Opportunity

UHP is expanding its Integrative Health Coaching program and is seeking multiple professionals to join our instructional team in Northwest Arkansas.

We are hiring across two instructional levels: Lead Instructor (IHC 1) and Assistant Instructor (IHC 3). Each level carries a distinct scope of responsibility and qualification requirements within the program.

The progression is straightforward. IHC 1 leads. IHC 3 assists and develops.

Certification: An active National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) credential is required for the Lead Instructor role. Candidates actively pursuing certification may be considered for Assistant Instructor.

Regardless of level, our instructors play an important role in helping students develop the practical coaching skills, professional judgment, self-awareness, confidence, and presence necessary to positively impact the lives of others.

Our approach is highly experiential. This is not a traditional lecture based teaching environment. Students learn through coaching practice, discussion, reflection, feedback, real world application, and personal development.

Candidates will be considered for the instructor level that best aligns with their credentials, education, coaching experience, instructional background, demonstrated competencies, and program needs.

Instructor Levels

Lead Instructor — IHC 1

The Lead Instructor serves as a primary instructional leader within the Integrative Health Coaching program and is responsible for curriculum delivery, achievement of learning outcomes, and helping ensure a consistent, high quality student experience.

Lead Instructors are expected to:

- Lead classroom instruction, experiential learning activities, coaching practicums, and student assessments.

- Ensure instructional delivery supports established program learning outcomes.

- Model advanced coaching presence, facilitation, professional judgment, and IHC competencies.

- Provide meaningful developmental feedback to students throughout the learning experience.

- Help maintain instructional quality and consistency across cohorts.

- Demonstrate expert knowledge and application of the UHP Integrative Health Coaching framework.

- Collaborate with program leadership on instructional quality, student outcomes, and continued program improvement.

- Serve as an instructional resource within the broader IHC faculty team.

Minimum Qualifications — IHC 1

- Active National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) credential.

- Master's degree in a health, wellness, behavioral science, coaching, or related field; or a bachelor's degree plus a nationally recognized health related professional license or credential such as RN, RDN, or ATC.

- Minimum of one year of teaching or instructional experience.

- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of health and wellness coaching, behavior change, ethics, and professional scope of practice.

- Expert knowledge of the UHP Integrative Health Coaching framework, or demonstrated ability to rapidly develop and apply mastery of the framework.

- Strong classroom leadership, communication, facilitation, and student development skills.

Assistant Instructor — IHC 3

The Assistant Instructor serves as a developmental instructional role, supporting course delivery, student engagement, coaching skills practice, and the overall learning environment while continuing to build instructional competency within the UHP IHC framework.

Assistant Instructors are expected to:

- Assist Lead Instructors with course delivery and classroom activities.

- Support student engagement during experiential learning and coaching practice.

- Assist with coaching demonstrations, small group activities, skills practice, and reflection exercises.

- Observe student coaching sessions and support feedback and development under the guidance of more experienced instructional staff.

- Model appropriate coaching behaviors, professional standards, and core IHC competencies.

- Support preparation and execution of instructional activities.

- Build instructional and facilitation capability through observation, coaching, feedback, and hands on experience.

- Continue developing knowledge and application of the UHP Integrative Health Coaching framework.

- Support the overall student experience and contribute positively to the IHC learning environment.

Minimum Qualifications — IHC 3

- Active NBC-HWC credential or eligibility to become National Board Certified.

- Bachelor's degree or relevant professional health, wellness, coaching, or related certifications.

- Foundational knowledge of health and wellness coaching principles, behavior change, ethics, and professional scope of practice.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Demonstrated interest or experience in teaching, facilitation, coaching, mentorship, or student development.

- Ability to work collaboratively and receive developmental feedback.

Preferred for IHC 3

- Graduate of UHP's Integrative Health Coaching program.

- Experience facilitating groups, workshops, coaching practice, or adult learning.

- Additional professional credentials within health, wellness, nutrition, human performance, behavioral health, or related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary based on assigned instructor level and may include:

- Deliver and support engaging, experiential instruction in health and wellness coaching.

- Teach and reinforce coaching process, behavior change, motivational interviewing, goal setting, ethics, scope of practice, communication, and competencies aligned with National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching standards.

- Facilitate learning through coaching practice, discussion, demonstrations, reflection, feedback, and real world application.

- Support students during coaching practicums and experiential learning activities.

- Model professional, ethical, client centered coaching and appropriate scope of practice.

- Create a supportive learning environment that encourages participation, self-discovery, critical thinking, accountability, and professional growth.

- Collaborate with fellow instructors and cross functional UHP teams to create a consistent and integrated student experience.

- Support the continued growth of the IHC program while maintaining a high standard of instructional quality and student development.

Our Coaching Philosophy

UHP's NBHWC approved Integrative Health Coaching program is grounded in the belief that clients are the experts on their own lives while coaches are experts in the process of behavior change.

Our approach emphasizes presence, deep listening, partnership, motivational interviewing, powerful inquiry, and a non-directive coaching style that empowers individuals to uncover their own motivations, strengths, solutions, and path forward.

Our instructors do more than teach these principles. They model them.

Instructors help students understand the distinction between coaching, advising, counseling, and other professional disciplines while developing the judgment, presence, and communication skills necessary to effectively serve future clients.

Preferred Qualifications

Depending on instructor level, competitive candidates may also bring:

- Professional health and wellness coaching experience.

- Experience teaching, facilitating, training, or educating adult learners.

- Experience leading classrooms, workshops, cohorts, or group learning experiences.

- Experience mentoring or developing coaches, students, or other professionals.

- Curriculum delivery or instructional design experience.

- Leadership experience within health, wellness, education, military, collegiate, or high performance environments.

- Experience working with military members, veterans, athletes, or individuals navigating significant life or career transitions.

- Additional expertise or certifications in areas such as mindfulness, mental performance, nutrition, strength and conditioning, behavioral health, leadership, or human performance.

- Military service or professional experience supporting military and veteran communities.

This is a full time, in person position based at UHP's campus in Gentry, Arkansas.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
