Job Description

The Position:

The UNFPA Rwanda Country Office seeks to engage a Multimedia Production Consultant on a retainer basis to provide specialised multimedia production services, including professional video production, animation and motion graphics. The consultant will support the documentation and dissemination of programme achievements, human-interest stories, best practices, lessons learned, partner contributions and other corporate communications priorities.

The retainer arrangement will enable UNFPA to access specialised technical expertise when required, maintain the quality and consistency of its communications products, and manage costs by commissioning assignments according to actual needs and approved deliverables rather than engaging a full-time resource.

How you can make a difference:

UNFPA is the lead United Nations agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is intended, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. The UNFPA Strategic Plan for 2026-2029 articulates the organization’s response to a complex global environment, providing a roadmap for resilience and renewal. It is designed to accelerate the implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. This mandate is pursued through a focus on four interconnected outcomes: ending the unmet need for family planning; ending preventable maternal deaths; ending gender-based violence and harmful practices; and adapting to demographic change through evidence and rights-based policies.

In a world where fundamental human rights are at risk, we need principled and ethical staff who embody these international norms and standards and will defend them courageously and with full conviction.

UNFPA is seeking candidates who transform, inspire, and deliver high-impact sustained results, ensuring effective external relations, communications, partnership-building and resource mobilization in a rapidly changing development and funding landscape. We need staff who are transparent, exceptional in how they manage the resources entrusted to them, and who commit to delivering excellence in programme results

Job Purpose:

  • Develop animated explainers and motion graphics that communicate technical information, programme results, statistics and key messages in accessible formats.
  • Support the visual storytelling and packaging of programme achievements, best practices, lessons learned and human-interest stories.
  • Adapt multimedia products for different audiences, communication channels and formats, including social media, websites, presentations, events and stakeholder engagements.
  • Ensure that all multimedia products adhere to UNFPA's branding, editorial, ethical, safeguarding, accessibility and quality standards.
  • Provide flexible, timely and cost-effective multimedia production services through a retainer arrangement responsive to the Country Office's evolving communications priorities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
