Department: Prelicensure Location: Health Sciences Center Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Regular Term (Fixed Term) Job Req ID: R109388 Position Description: Position Description The School of Nursing seeks to hire an open-rank term professor with a strong teaching background and clinical experience in nursing. Faculty for this position should have clinical RN experience in adult health focused nursing. Experience in more than one clinical specialty area is desired. This is a full-time faculty appointment at an open academic rank (Professor, Associate, Assistant, or Instructor); commensurate with experience and qualifications. Demonstrated excellence or recent education in teaching and learning pedagogy and adult learning principles will be essential. Leadership skills in working with diverse groups is crucial as is the academic credibility to garner respect from colleagues. The individual must possess excellent communication and collaboration skills and abilities, be flexible and nimble, and follow through on matters related to faculty and student success. This is a 10-month term position (starting January 2027) in the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and accelerated second-degree BSN programs. Minimum Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing Experience in adult focused acute and chronic med/surg, and/or critical care, . Excellent presentation, writing, communication, and team collaboration skills. Eligible to obtain an unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in Kentucky. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in nursing or related discipline. Applicants without a doctoral degree must possess a doctoral degree to be eligible for promotion. Experience in multiple clinical specialties, with a preference for additional experience in pediatric nursing. Recent education or effective teaching experience in multiple course delivery modalities, including online and hybrid. Experience in course development, delivery, and evaluation. Demonstrated leadership and teaching scholarship. Robust knowledge of salient research, effective pedagogical practices, adult learning theories, instructional design, higher education workforce trends, assessment techniques, scholarly research practices, teaching practices, and teaching technologies. Demonstrated expertise in providing face-to-face, hybrid, and online teaching and learning. Experience in providing instruction and consulting with faculty on effective student-centered teaching and learning, teaching with technology, universal design for learning, and teaching in all modalities. Experience developing curricular programming and educational programs with broad campus collaboration.
