The posting

The role

Build AI systems inside real enterprises, from understanding the problem to shipping software people depend on.

You'll work directly with customers, connect their data and systems, and build agents, services, and applications. You'll own the engineering and the deployment: making technical decisions, explaining tradeoffs, and improving what you've shipped.

This is a forward-deployed engineering role. Bring a technical strength and the curiosity to understand the whole business problem.

What we're building

Mason is accelerating development of the built world with AI. We turn fragmented documents, databases, emails, and operational knowledge into a company brain people and agents can use to automate work and eliminate errors.

We're growing fast - we have an 8-figure pipeline of projects and are looking for great engineers and builders to join our team.

Our founding team includes a repeat founder who sold his last company to Coinbase, a former tech lead at Meta Superintelligence who co-created Meta AI, and a development director who built $2B+ of projects.

What you'll own

  • Understand the business. Sit with operators and executives, map the workflow, and find the exceptions that make the problem hard.
  • Build the solution. Connect enterprise systems and messy data, design the backend, and build agents and applications people can use.
  • Make it dependable. Test against real examples, trace failures, and decide where the system needs checks or human review.
  • Run the deployment. Own technical decisions, timelines, customer updates, and improvements after launch.
  • Make the next one easier. Turn repeated needs into shared integrations, context systems, and reusable infrastructure.

Who we're looking for

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience, with production software you helped build and operate.
  • Strong programming and system-design fundamentals. You can explain your decisions and what happened when something broke.
  • Clear communication with customers, including thoughtful pushback and difficult tradeoffs.
  • Depth in backend, data, infrastructure, or applied AI, and evidence of turning an unclear problem into a working result.

You could be an experienced FDE, an engineer ready to work closer to customers, a technical founder, or a solutions engineer. Show us what you built and owned. Real estate experience is optional.

Relevant technologies

Python, TypeScript, Node.js, SQL; AWS and enterprise data platforms such as PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Databricks; Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, agent SDKs, MCP, retrieval, evaluations, and workflow orchestration. Experience with comparable tools is welcome.

Why join Mason

Work directly with our CTO and enterprise customers. You'll see the business problem, make consequential technical decisions, and see your work in use.

We're early enough for you to shape the architecture and product. Each deployment helps build a stronger foundation for the next.

Team and culture

  • CEO is a second-time founder who sold his last company to Coinbase
  • CTO was previously a tech lead at Meta Superintelligence and co-created Meta AI
  • COO has led over $2B in real estate development

Small, intense, low-ego. High ownership, direct feedback, board game nights, and lots of laughs.

Apply once. Tell us what you've built or led - we'll consider you across relevant openings. Let's talk :)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
