The posting

At Utila, we build the enterprise-grade platform that more than 300 global institutions run their digital asset operations on. Our technology secures $25B+ in monthly transaction volume and has protected over $200B to date. We’re backed by $50M in funding, and our customer base is growing fast.

The systems we build are mission-critical, so we hold them to the highest standard: precise, secure, and reliable. If you want to own hard problems end to end, work alongside people who raise the bar, and leave your mark on the future of financial technology, you’ll feel at home here.

How we work At Utila, we believe in extreme ownership. It’s our philosophy and mindset, how we operate. We Own It. We own our standard. Excellence here isn’t aspirational; it’s the standard. Quality, security, and reliability are non-negotiable when you build to protect financial assets. We hold every detail to the highest standard and never scale at the expense of quality.

Responsibilities

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the infrastructure that runs Utila’s platform: cloud architecture, Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, observability, and the security posture of our production systems. You’ll work closely with the backend team and help shape our engineering standards. Our customers rely on this platform to move and protect financial assets, so its availability and security are what they count on most.

What you’ll own

  • Design, build and maintain our cloud infrastructure on GCP and AWS with Pulumi (IaC), with scalability, reliability and security built in from the start.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions for fast, safe and auditable delivery of our backend services.
  • Work alongside the backend team on Go development, from infrastructure-adjacent services and tooling to production-readiness improvements in core services.
  • Run and evolve our Kubernetes environments, networking and secrets management, with high availability and strong isolation of sensitive data.
  • Drive monitoring, alerting and incident response, and keep raising the bar on observability across the stack.
  • Build security into our infrastructure and delivery pipelines: IAM, network policies, secret handling and compliance-aligned controls.
  • Take part in architectural and technology decisions, design and code reviews, and the engineering standards we hold across the team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional DevOps or infrastructure experience in high-scale cloud services or SaaS products.
  • Deep experience with GCP and/or AWS, including networking, IAM and managed services at scale.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Pulumi, Terraform or similar) in production.
  • Production experience with Kubernetes and modern container-based delivery.
  • Solid experience designing and running CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent).
  • Strong scripting and/or development skills. You can read, write and review production code.
  • Experience running PostgreSQL or other managed databases in production.
  • You work as part of a team: you bring people in early, share what you know, and step in when a teammate is stuck.

Nice to have

  • A software development background with production experience in Go, or a strong willingness and track record of contributing code to backend services.
  • A strong security background: cloud security, identity, secrets management, threat modeling, or experience in a security engineering or DevSecOps role.
  • Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Datadog or similar).
  • Familiarity with applied cryptography, blockchain technology, or other security-sensitive financial systems.
  • Experience in regulated, compliance-heavy environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
