Position Summary

The Service Engineer is a key role within our commercial and business development team. We are seeking a professional with proven technical experience in the installation, programming, and servicing of automated machinery, ideally within the industrial baking or food sector. This position will serve as a primary point of contact with our clients, strengthening relationships while working closely with the sales team to develop new business opportunities in services, spare parts, machinery, and raw materials.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with a strong willingness to learn our business and the flexibility to travel both within and outside of Mexico for more than 70% of the time. This is a remote position, and the candidate can be located anywhere within Mexico.

The position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring assigned installation and service projects. Additionally, the role will focus on generating commercial insights based on field observations, training customers, developing customized solutions to meet client needs, and promoting our portfolio of release agents as well as other products and services. The candidate is also expected to quickly develop strong expertise in release agent products and their applications in order to provide comprehensive solutions to our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, schedule, and coordinate assigned field engineering projects. The primary activity will be the installation and servicing of industrial bakery equipment at customer sites across Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
  • Maintain, update, and optimize equipment, ensuring that machinery operates according to customer-required specifications.
  • Interact with customers to understand their requirements and design equipment solutions that meet those needs.
  • Train customers on the proper use and maintenance of our equipment.
  • Work closely with equipment manufacturing and sales teams to deliver customer solutions.
  • Schedule all installation, service, and customer training activities. Participate in all aspects of planning, design, construction, and installation of equipment at the end-user’s facilities.
  • Ensure that installed equipment complies with standards, codes, policies, practices, and specifications, including local regulations and customer requirements.
  • Provide remote technical support to customers.
  • Execute all activities safely and professionally, following company procedures to ensure work is performed correctly and properly documented.
  • Collaborate with the account team leader and other team members to ensure alignment on priorities.
  • Develop and manage new and existing accounts, as well as sales opportunities in equipment and products, aligned with business and account strategies.
  • Provide continuous feedback to the Vantage manufacturing team to resolve design issues or improve existing equipment.

Note: The functions mentioned above are not exhaustive and may be subject to periodic updates or revisions.

Education & Experience

Education: Ideally, candidates should hold a completed degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering, or a related field. We will also consider candidates without a university degree who have proven experience in similar roles, maintenance, or production within the baking or food industry.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in these roles or in field engineering, project management, field operations, or equipment integration is required.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
