About VectorY
VectorY is a fast-growing biotech company developing long-lasting therapies for neurodegenerative diseases, based at Amsterdam Science Park. We combine gene therapy and antibody engineering to pursue new possibilities where medical need is high.
With approximately 80 professionals across Amsterdam, Europe and the US, we are building momentum and scaling our organisation thoughtfully. At VectorY, innovation and collaboration are not just values. They are how we achieve our ambition.
The team The Discovery team consists of 14 scientists and researchers who are focused on designing the medicines of the future. As part of this team, you will work at the forefront of antibody discovery, helping to create innovative solutions for diseases with significant unmet medical need. You will be exposed to cutting-edge science, collaborate with experienced colleagues across multiple disciplines, and see first-hand how your work contributes to transforming promising concepts into therapies that could one day change patients' lives.
The role As a Senior Technician, you will play a key role in our antibody discovery efforts. Your work will directly contribute to identifying and selecting the molecules that form the foundation of VectorY's future therapies.
Working closely with Discovery team leaders and scientists, you will design and execute biochemical experiments that generate the critical data needed to move discovery programs forward. You will not simply follow established protocols; your expertise and scientific judgement will help shape experimental strategies, troubleshoot technical challenges and improve existing methods.
In a typical week, you will discuss experimental plans with project teams, independently execute laboratory experiments, analyse data and present findings to colleagues. You will participate in scientific discussions that influence ongoing discovery campaigns and gain insight into the broader scientific and clinical activities across VectorY through our weekly VecConnect meetings.
This role offers a unique balance between hands-on laboratory work and scientific ownership. It is particularly well suited to someone who enjoys solving complex scientific problems, working independently and contributing tangible results that influence key project decisions. Ultimately, the data you generate will help determine what our next medicines look like.
