Portuguese-Speaking Health Insurance Sales Representative

Location: Covilhã, Portugal Work Model: On-site Employment Type: Full-time Working Schedule: 8 hours per day

About the Role

We are looking for a confident and customer-oriented Portuguese-speaking Sales Representative to join a health insurance sales project in Covilhã.

In this role, you will contact potential customers exclusively by telephone, identify their healthcare needs and introduce suitable health insurance plans. Your main objective will be to acquire new customers by presenting relevant solutions and converting sales opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make outbound telephone calls to prospective customers.
  • Identify customer needs and understand their healthcare requirements.
  • Present and explain available health insurance plans and their benefits.
  • Recommend suitable plans based on individual customer needs.
  • Handle customer questions, concerns and sales objections professionally.
  • Build rapport with potential customers and encourage subscriptions.
  • Work towards customer acquisition and sales performance objectives.

Requirements

  • Native or fluent Portuguese (C2 proficiency).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence and professionalism when communicating over the telephone.
  • Strong persuasion, negotiation and active listening skills.
  • Customer-focused and results-oriented mindset.
  • Motivation to work in a target-driven sales environment.
  • Previous experience in telesales, outbound sales, telemarketing or insurance sales is an advantage.
  • Must be an EU citizen or hold valid Portuguese residency with authorisation to work in Portugal.

Salary & Benefits

  • Gross base salary: €920/month
  • Holiday allowance: €76.67
  • Christmas allowance: €76.67
  • Meal allowance: €147/month (€7 per working day)
  • Total monthly package: €1,220.33
  • Private health and dental insurance after signing the employment contract, provided the employee has a Portuguese NIF and Social Security Number.
  • Initial fixed-term employment contract with an expected duration of 12 months, extendable for a further 12 months.
  • Permanent employment contract after 2 years.

Training

  • 5 working days of initial training (8 hours per day).
  • Followed by up to 5 additional working days of practical training.
  • Training compensation: €100 in total for 10 working days (€10 per day).
  • Training compensation is paid proportionally upon successful completion of the training period.
  • Successful completion of training is required before signing the employment contract.

Important Eligibility Information

Only EU citizens or candidates who already hold valid Portuguese residency with the right to work in Portugal are eligible.
