The posting

You’re looking for a change, and so are we. At Venable, we know that every new hire brings valuable experience, new perspectives, and a chance to raise the bar on our approach to how we work. That’s why we’re looking for a Knowledge Solutions Analyst to support the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of the Research & Knowledge Services technology platforms, data, digital resources, and workflows.

The role provides day-to-day technical support and system stewardship across systems, electronic-resource access, reporting, testing, resource discovery, and workflow improvement, partnering closely with Knowledge Solutions, IT, vendors, and other business teams.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for…

  • Managing defined operational functions within the firm's research technology environment, including ticketing system, usage monitoring, and other Research & Knowledge platforms (including configurations, permissions, module workflows, reporting, and data validation)
  • Participating in system upgrades, feature releases, system migrations, implementations, and enhancements including establishing requirement validations, data cleanup, maintaining change logs, UAT and operational documentation
  • Troubleshooting system and platform issues, identifying root causes, collecting diagnostic information, coordinating vendor or IT escalation, and validating resolution
  • Maintaining recurring operational reports and dashboards; cleaning, reconciling, and validating usage, service, access, and system data for reliable analysis
  • Supporting the discovery of research tools by performing data hygiene and record maintenance
  • Collaborating with Research Services on research technology use cases, pilots, training requirements, adoption feedback, and workflow testing

The successful candidate will demonstrate…

  • Advanced education in library/information science, information systems, data/analytics, technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered where appropriate
  • A minimum of four years of related experience to include experience supporting or administering business, research, library, or workflow systems; or comparable platforms
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills; ability to define problems, collect relevant information, test solutions, document findings, and coordinate resolution across teams
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Excel; experience with data cleanup, reconciliation, reporting, and dashboards (Power BI, Power Query, or comparable tools are preferred)
  • Working knowledge of authentication and access concepts such as SSO, IP authentication, permissions, entitlements, and user lifecycle administration
  • Experience with UAT, system implementations, upgrades, release/change management, or technology project coordination
  • Excellent communication, documentation, organization, and project-coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and stakeholders
  • Occasional travel to other firm offices may be required based on business needs

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
