Vestis is seeking an experienced Technical IT Director – Dayforce to provide technical leadership, administration, architecture, integration, and ongoing optimization of the Dayforce platform. This leader will own the technical direction, operational performance, governance, security, integration strategy, and long-term roadmap for Dayforce while partnering closely with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, and application teams. The role requires a hands-on technical leader who can translate business needs into scalable platform solutions, manage complex configurations and integrations, strengthen system governance, and ensure Dayforce operates as a reliable, secure, and value-producing enterprise platform.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the technical owner and subject matter expert for the Dayforce platform, providing overall technical direction, governance, administration, and platform stewardship.
Lead the design, configuration, implementation, enhancement, and ongoing support of Dayforce across Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Workforce Management, Time & Attendance, Talent, Recruiting, and related capabilities.
Define and maintain Dayforce technical architecture, configuration standards, security models, integration standards, data governance practices, and operating procedures.
Lead complex Dayforce configurations, including business rules, workflows, pay policies, schedules, eligibility rules, security roles, organizational structures, and related system settings.
Own the Dayforce technical strategy and roadmap, including enhancements, upgrades, new functionality, integrations, automation opportunities, and optimization initiatives.
Lead the design, development, implementation, and support of Dayforce integrations with HR, payroll, finance, identity, benefits, timekeeping, reporting, and other enterprise systems.
Oversee APIs, web services, integration tools, data exchanges, interfaces, and third-party integrations involving Dayforce.
Establish and maintain data governance, data integrity, security, privacy, and quality standards across the Dayforce environment.
Lead technical troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, incident resolution, production support, and continuous improvement for Dayforce.
Manage Dayforce releases, upgrades, patches, regression testing, user acceptance testing, change control, and production deployments.
Oversee Dayforce security, roles, permissions, access controls, segregation of duties, audit readiness, and compliance requirements.
Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, operational runbooks, standards, and support procedures.
Establish KPIs, service levels, operational metrics, and support processes to measure Dayforce performance, reliability, delivery quality, and user experience.
Manage technical risks, dependencies, capacity, priorities, vendor performance, and technology decisions related to the Dayforce platform.
Collaboration & Influence
Partner with HR, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable Dayforce technical solutions.
Lead technical requirements gathering, solution design, estimates, feasibility assessments, and implementation planning for Dayforce initiatives.
Partner with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, and application teams to ensure Dayforce aligns with broader IT standards and enterprise platform practices.
Manage external consultants, implementation partners, vendors, and Dayforce support resources to ensure high-quality delivery and sustained operational performance.
Provide technical leadership for Dayforce implementations, acquisitions, organizational changes, major enhancements, and complex system transformations.
Lead and mentor Dayforce administrators, developers, analysts, integration specialists, and other technical resources as applicable.
Communicate complex technical concepts in clear business terms and provide practical recommendations to stakeholders and senior leaders.
Qualifications
8–10+ years of experience in enterprise HR technology, HCM systems, IT applications, or related technology environments.
5+ years of hands-on Dayforce technical, administration, architecture, implementation, or integration experience.
Deep knowledge of Dayforce configuration, security, workflows, business rules, organizational structures, and platform capabilities.
Strong experience with Dayforce integrations, APIs, data interfaces, web services, and enterprise system integration.
Experience leading Dayforce implementations, enhancements, production support, and platform optimization efforts.
Strong understanding of HCM, HR, payroll, workforce management, benefits, time and attendance, and related enterprise processes.
Experience managing internal technical teams and third-party resources.
Strong technical architecture, solution design, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications
Dayforce certification(s) strongly preferred.
Experience with SQL, data concepts, reporting structures, and enterprise application architecture preferred.
Experience supporting HR, payroll, or workforce management transformations in a complex enterprise environment preferred.
Experience working with audit, compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, and access-control requirements for enterprise HR platforms preferred.
Working Environment/Physical Requirements
Hybrid or remote work schedule / environment; up to 20% travel may be required. Must be available during standard U.S. Eastern Time (ET) business hours.
