Position Summary
We are seeking a safety-focused Forklift and Sideload Operator to support our shipping and material handling operations. In this role, you will move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished products throughout the facility. You will also load and unload trucks, organize materials in designated storage areas, and prepare products for shipment.
This position is a good fit for someone who has experience operating powered material-handling equipment, works carefully around large or delicate products, and takes pride in maintaining an organized and safe work area.
Responsibilities
• Operate forklifts, side loaders, and other material-handling equipment to move materials and products safely.
• Pick up, stage, store, and transport raw materials, supplies, work-in-process, and finished products.
• Deliver materials to production areas, holding areas, storage locations, or the shipping staging area.
• Load outgoing trucks and help ensure products are positioned in the correct sequence.
• Secure and cushion products during loading to reduce the risk of shifting or damage during transportation.
• Use care when manually positioning panels and other products to prevent scratches, marks, or other damage.
• Unload incoming materials, supplies, and equipment and place them in the appropriate storage or work areas.
• Count and verify materials received and products being prepared for shipment.
• Complete required records and material-handling documentation.
• Inspect equipment and report unsafe conditions, damaged materials, defective products, or equipment concerns to a supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Follow established safety rules, operating procedures, and company policies.
• Assist with other shipping, warehouse, or material-handling duties as needed
Qualifications
• One to two years of related material-handling, forklift, warehouse, shipping, or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to safely operate, or learn to operate, forklifts and sideload material-handling equipment.
• Ability to read and use basic work instructions, schedules, charts, tables, drawings, and product specifications.
• Good judgment when determining how materials should be moved, positioned, stored, and loaded.
• Strong attention to safety, product quality, and the movement of people and equipment in the work area.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive while operating powered equipment.
• Ability to maintain accurate counts and basic work records.
• Handle, position, and move materials throughout the workday.
• Occasionally lift or move materials of an average weight.
• Safely access and operate powered material-handling equipment.
• Maintain continuous visual attention while moving materials and operating equipment.
• Work in an environment that may include changing temperatures, weather exposure, noise, and other manufacturing or shipping conditions.
Work Schedule 7:00am to 3:30pm
