Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia to appoint a Technical Support Specialist within the Drilling Department.

The ideal candidate shall be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving operational issues related to drilling systems, equipment, and technologies. The role involves assisting end users, maintaining technical documentation, monitoring system performance, and collaborating with technical teams to ensure smooth operations and minimize downtime.

This appointment offers an opportunity for a technically skilled support specialist to contribute to the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of drilling operations in a demanding mining environment.

Position : Technical Support Specialist

Reports to : Technical Services Superintendent

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides technical support to drilling and site personnel.
  2. Installs and configures hardware and software systems.
  3. Troubleshoots IT equipment, network, and system issues.
  4. Supports field data collection devices and systems.
  5. Maintains IT equipment inventory and asset tracking.
  6. Responds to user service requests promptly.
  7. Ensures systems are updated and properly maintained.
  8. Monitors network performance and connectivity.
  9. Assists in the setup of site communication systems.
  10. Ensures cybersecurity measures are followed.
  11. Maintains documentation of IT systems and issues.
  12. Supports remote sites with connectivity solutions.
  13. Installs upgrades and patches as required.
  14. Provides user training on IT systems.
  15. Assists in backup and data recovery processes.
  16. Coordinates with vendors for technical support.
  17. Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
  18. Maintains helpdesk records and issue logs.
  19. Supports continuous improvement of IT services.
  20. Performs other duties assigned by management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Diploma/Degree in IT or related field
  2. Minimum 2+ years technical support experience
  3. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  4. Knowledge of hardware, software, and networking
  5. Good communication and customer service skills
  6. Basic English communication skills.
