About the location:

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will feature 95 keys and 25 branded residential homes, 8 distinct F&B outlets, all thoughtfully designed to reflect a contemporary interpretation of the Dominican Republic’s natural beauty. Wellness will be a defining pillar of the property, delivering a holistic experience that harmonizes with the natural environment while enhancing overall wellbeing through the restorative power of nature. The sustainable luxury destination is located on a 60-acre (24 hectare) site along the pristine beachfront of Playa Esmeralda in northeastern Dominican Republic, along the southern shores of Samaná Bay. A site of breathtaking natural beauty, Tropicalia is home to a diverse ecosystem of white-sand beaches; crystalline, aquamarine water and coral reefs; mountains, forests, mangroves, lagoons and rivers; a working coconut plantation; and an organic farm.

About the Role

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our pre-opening team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position will oversee daily accounting activities, maintain accurate financial records and support timely financial reporting while ensuring compliance with Four Seasons policies, internal controls and applicable Dominican accounting and tax requirements.

What You Will Do

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Income Audit, cashiering and balance-sheet reconciliations.
  • Participate in pre-opening activities, including the implementation and testing of financial systems, development of accounting procedures, creation of the chart of accounts and establishment of internal controls.
  • Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring that journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and financial reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Review balance-sheet accounts and supporting schedules, investigate discrepancies and ensure the timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, forecasts and other analyses for the Director of Finance and hotel leadership.
  • Ensure that all revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities are recorded accurately and supported by appropriate documentation and approvals.
  • Monitor Accounts Payable processes, including invoice matching, payment preparation, supplier reconciliations and adherence to established payment terms.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable, credit and collection activities and ensure the accurate reconciliation of guest, group, residence and other accounts.
  • Support payroll accounting and reconciliation in collaboration with People and Culture and the Payroll team.
  • Assist with statutory, tax and regulatory reporting, including required submissions to the Dominican tax and government authorities.
  • Maintain compliance with Four Seasons financial policies, segregation-of-duties requirements, local regulations and applicable accounting standards.
  • Support internal, external, ownership and regulatory audits by preparing schedules, documentation and responses to audit requests.
  • Maintain accurate fixed-asset records and support the control, capitalization and reconciliation of pre-opening and capital expenditures.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, coach and develop Accounting employees, promoting accuracy, accountability, collaboration and the Golden Rule.
  • Partner with operational departments to strengthen financial understanding, improve controls and resolve accounting-related questions.

What You Bring

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline. Professional accounting certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of three to five years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including previous supervisory or management responsibility. Luxury-hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting, financial reporting, balance-sheet reconciliations, internal controls, taxation and audit processes.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial-management systems. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable ERP platform is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish and working proficiency in English are required, along with excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Schedule & Hours

  • This is a full-time position.
  • The primary schedule will be during regular business hours; however, flexibility to work evenings, weekends or public holidays may be required during month-end and year-end closings, audits, inventories and other business-critical periods.
