About the role:
Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is looking for a Head Waiter with a strong wine knowledge to join our ISA team. We are seeking dedicated professionals committed to delivering exceptional quality and personalized service to our guests. This role requires not only excellence in food service, but also the ability to confidently guide guests through our wine offerings, recommend pairings, and contribute to a memorable dining experience.
What you will do:
- Describe the selection of food, beverage, and wine menu items to guests by offering engaging and knowledgeable descriptions of each item's origin, flavour profile, production methods, and pairing recommendations.
- Provide professional wine service and confidently recommend wines based on guests’ preferences, menu selections, and pairing opportunities, enhancing the overall dining experience.
- Communicate guest orders, including any special needs or requests, to the kitchen and bar teams.
- Coordinate food timings; check completed kitchen orders against the guest’s original order; transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.
- Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
- Support the management of the wine program by assisting with wine inventory control, stock counts, cellar organization, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Monitor wine stock levels and communicate replenishment needs to ensure the availability of key labels and vintages.
- Properly and accurately close guest checks; process cash and credit card payments; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals.
What you bring:
We are looking for highly motivated team players with a genuine passion for hospitality and wine. This role has direct contact with guests and therefore requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to create engaging dining experiences.
Candidates should have previous experience in Food & Beverage within a luxury, high-volume environment and demonstrate solid wine knowledge, including wine styles, regions, grape varieties, vintages, and food pairing principles.
A WSET qualification (Level 2 or above) and/or Court of Master Sommeliers certification is highly preferred. Candidates currently pursuing these certifications will also be considered.

Schedule & Hours:
This is a full-time position.
This role might operate on a rotating shift basis, covering evening shifts throughout the week, including weekends.
