The posting

The Company

Our client is an established New Zealand business with a growing presence in Australia, and hundreds of internal users who rely on software their own team builds. They run their own AI foundation, including a proprietary language model, and treat AI as a core business tool rather than an experiment. They pay for proper tooling and give people room to try things. Developers are backed by an active AI user group, overseas hackathons and a culture of growing capability from within.

The Role

We are looking for an Intermediate .NET Developer to join a close-knit team. You will start on well-scoped pieces of real production work and take on more as you prove yourself, with senior developers close by to review, challenge and guide. The work is backend-focused, building the services and agents that sit behind tools used across the business every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Building backend services and APIs in C# and .NET that power AI agents, conversational assistants and automated workflows
  • Connecting an in-house language model to customer, pricing and transaction data
  • Helping deliver features that predict customer behaviour and remove repetitive manual work
  • Using AI coding assistants daily to move faster, then checking and testing what they produce before it goes anywhere near production
  • Having your code reviewed by senior developers, learning from it, and reviewing the work of others
  • Working with analysts in an agile delivery stream to turn rough ideas into working software
  • Taking part in the AI user group and bringing new tools and techniques back to the team

Skills and Experience We're Looking For

  • 2-4 years' commercial experience in C# and .NET
  • Comfortable building and consuming REST APIs, with working SQL Server knowledge
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally Azure
  • Real experience using AI coding tools, and curiosity about LLM APIs and agents (side projects and hackathons count)
  • Solid fundamentals in object-oriented design, testing, source control and agile delivery
  • An ambitious, quick-learning attitude and a habit of asking good questions
  • Able to talk through your own code and comfortable writing some live in a technical interview
  • No front-end skills needed, as this is a backend role

This position is based in Christchurch. If you want to build real AI-driven software and grow quickly with a team that invests in its people, please apply now.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
