The farm Carinup starts 30km south of the township of Lake Grace and finishes approximately 15km south of Pingrup, 2 hours to Albany and 4 hours to Perth. Lake Grace has everything you need, such a primary school, high school, a hospital and swimming pool.

The Carinup aggregation is the newest farm to the Warakirri Cropping family, which consists of an impressive 16,000 arable ha. The farm is home to a dedicated team of around 10 full-time staff. The manager wants to create a culture that is based on teamwork, and not based on hierarchy. If you want to do something you haven’t done before the manager will be there to support you.

At Carinup, we use the latest equipment, precision agriculture systems, and farm management technology. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on farming and the data behind high performing operations.

Job Description

What does a Maintenance Manager at Warakirri Cropping do?

  • Oversee the maintenance of a fleet of light vehicles, trucks, tractors, sprayers, harvesters, and a range of farm support equipment.
  • Ensure all maintenance is carried out in a timely and professional manner in accordance with manufacturers’ requirements. This would include:Conducting diagnostic tests and analysing/actioning results. Keeping accurate maintenance records. Ensure all vehicles and equipment are serviced in a timely manner. Provide technical advice to the Farm Manager.
  • Management of on farm workshop and ensuring that parts are in stock.
  • Ensure pre-season maintenance is completed ahead of time.
  • Attend call outs as required.
  • Assist with managing and conducting the spraying, seeding and harvest operations as required.
  • Identifying and reporting any health and safety hazards, incidents or issues.
  • Other general farm duties as required.

Qualifications

Do you recognise yourself in the following statements?

  • Previous experience as mechanic, maintenance manager or similar.
  • Experience in agriculture, transport, earthmoving or mining
  • Experience in the operation of large-scale plant and equipment.
  • A willingness to learn and work safely, adopt new practices, further develop skills, and work in a team environment.
  • The ability to demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Class MC Driver’s License (preferred but not essential).
