Job Description

Future Farm Leaders – By Solterra

Program Objectives & Structure

The Future Farm Leaders program is a Graduate Program designed to provide a structured development pathway for future farm leaders. Over two years, you’ll gain technical, operational and leadership experience through on-farm placements, formal training, and mentoring support. This is a hands-on program for those wanting to step into Farm Manager or Agronomy roles.

Program Structure:

Year 1 – Coolana (Wirrinya, NSW): Farm Operations & Agronomy Foundations

  • Agronomic practices including soil, crop and pest/disease management
  • Introduction to SwarmBot robotics and autonomous spraying technology
  • Farm budgeting, logistics and seasonal planning
  • Practical experience in chemical handling and broadacre operations

Year 2 – Worral Creek (Talwood, QLD): Strategic Farm Management & Applied Agronomy

  • Leading teams and overseeing workflows
  • Advanced agronomic decision-making
  • Exposure to sustainability, policy and compliance requirements

Throughout the program, you’ll also receive regular mentoring from experienced leaders, attend structured check-ins, and build a strong peer network with other graduates.

What will I get out of the Graduate Program?

You will work as part of the on-farm and corporate teams on day-to-day farming activities and real-life projects, whilst receiving on-the-job coaching, training and mentorship.

  • You will gain exposure to different production regions, farming systems and corporate administration. This exposure will provide you with a detailed understanding of how large scale national corporate agricultural businesses are structured and operate.
  • You will receive several training intensives throughout the program with a focus on technical, managerial, agronomic, budgeting and precision agriculture skills.
  • You will be a full-time employee (on a maximum-term contract) and paid a competitive salary. Upon the completion of the graduate program, graduates will be eligible to apply for permanent roles within the business.

You must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen to be eligible for the program.

Additional Information

I meet the eligibility requirements and I am interested – what are the next steps?

  1. Apply by submitting your current resume and a short statement explaining why you are interested in our program by the 6th of November 2026.

If you choose to use ChatGPT or any AI tools to help you write your motivation letter/resume, please be mindful that we can often tell when the same generic content is used across candidates. What we’re looking for is your own identity, what you want to share, what matters to you, and what would help us understand why this program is the right fit for you.

  1. We will invite you to an online interview to get to know you better.
  2. You will complete our online assessments.
  3. It's time to interview us! We will book a catch-up session so you can ask any outstanding questions you have about the Graduate Program.

Please note, you must be ready, willing and available to commence the Graduate Program’s induction week starting 27 January 2027

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
