About the Opportunity:
The Department of Assessment and Taxation (A&T) is excited to announce an opportunity for an Administrative Specialist II to join our Special Programs Unit within the Tax Division.
This team plays a vital role in serving our community, providing essential services to thousands of customers each year through in-person assistance, phone support, and email communication. In addition to helping customers directly, the Special Programs Unit works with A&T units to support a variety of assessment and taxation responsibilities throughout the year. Key Services Provided by the Special Programs Unit: • Disabled and Senior property tax deferrals • Veteran’s exemptions • Manufactured structure title transfers • Passport acceptance services • Lobby assistance and department switchboard operations
Ideal Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of modern office practices and methods;
- Knowledge of operational characteristics and applications of data processing equipment;
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of office equipment and machinery;
- Skills to provide timely, effective, and efficient customer service to the general public, clients, and other employees;
- Skills to interact patiently with individuals making inquiries regarding various County programs and services who have little or no experience or knowledge of the services provided;
- Ability to process assigned work in an efficient manner and speed necessary for successful job performance; and
- Ability to exercise keen time management skills, balance multiple priorities, and consistently meet timelines and due dates.

- 1 Special Programs Supervisor
- 1 Senior Administrative Specialist
- 4 Administrative Specialist II's
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent; and Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience providing administrative or clerical support.
- Possession of Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or other applicable certifications may substitute for up to one (1) year of the experience requirement.
