Min Experience: 5+ years Location: Jogeshwari West, Mumbai JobType: full-time

We are seeking a hands-on and results-driven Sales Head to lead business development, drive revenue growth, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the building-materials industry. The role will focus on developing new business opportunities, managing the sales pipeline, and expanding market presence by engaging with architects, contractors, and other prospective customers.

The position combines individual sales ownership with team leadership. The candidate will initially manage and guide a small sales team while actively pursuing business opportunities and building the sales function as the business grows. The ideal candidate will have relevant building-materials sales experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to balance direct selling with team management.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development and Direct Sales

  • Identify prospective customers and generate new business opportunities within the building-materials market.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with architects, contractors, builders, and other key decision-makers.
  • Conduct customer meetings to understand project requirements, product specifications, and purchasing needs.
  • Present aluminium window systems, communicate their features and benefits, and recommend solutions aligned with customer requirements.
  • Independently manage sales discussions, negotiate commercial terms, and drive opportunities towards closure.
  • Explore new markets, customer segments, and project opportunities to expand the business.

2. Sales Pipeline and Revenue Management

  • Build, maintain, and manage a healthy sales pipeline, from prospect identification and initial engagement to follow-ups and deal closure.
  • Establish consistent follow-up processes to convert prospects into customers and generate repeat business.
  • Track sales performance, monitor pipeline progress, and ensure achievement of individual and team sales targets.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks in the sales cycle and implement strategies to improve conversion rates.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to identify opportunities for additional business and long-term partnerships.

3. Sales Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage the existing sales team while taking direct ownership of key sales opportunities.
  • Set clear goals, monitor performance, and provide guidance to team members to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Coach and mentor the team on prospecting, customer engagement, product presentations, negotiation, and follow-up practices.
  • Build and expand the sales team as business requirements evolve.
  • Establish effective sales processes and accountability to support scalable business growth.

4. Market Development and Customer Engagement

  • Develop a strong understanding of market dynamics, customer expectations, and competitive offerings in the building-materials sector.
  • Build a strong professional network among architects, contractors, builders, and other relevant industry stakeholders.
  • Gather customer feedback and market insights to identify emerging opportunities and improve sales strategies.
  • Represent the business professionally during customer meetings, project discussions, and business-development engagements.

5. Hands-On Sales Execution

  • Remain actively involved in day-to-day sales activities rather than focusing exclusively on supervisory responsibilities.
  • Independently pursue high-potential opportunities while supporting the team in achieving its targets.
  • Demonstrate ownership, initiative, and accountability for business development and overall sales performance.

Must-Have Skills and Requirements

  • Building Materials Sales: Relevant experience in sales and business development within the building-materials industry.
  • Communication and Presentation: Strong verbal communication, presentation, and persuasion skills.
  • Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with architects, contractors, builders, and prospective customers.
  • Business Development: Proven ability to identify prospects, generate leads, develop a sales pipeline, and convert opportunities into business.
  • Sales Ownership: Confidence in independently managing customer meetings, negotiations, follow-ups, and deal closures.
  • Team Management: Ability to guide and motivate a sales team while maintaining personal responsibility for sales targets.
  • Execution and Initiative: A proactive, self-driven approach with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience leading or scaling a sales team in a growing business.
  • Familiarity with aluminium window systems or related construction and building-envelope products.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project-based sales cycles.
  • Experience developing sales strategies, tracking performance metrics, and improving conversion rates.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
